You must be sick of this by now (fair price on an '04 Performance?)
Test drove an '03 today - my first time behind the wheel of a Z - what a ride! I don't think I'll ever be able to drive a "normal" car again
Clean condition, a few cosmetic defects (small paint scratches, etc)
34,700 mi
It's being sold at a Dodge dealership - should I trust them, or take it to a private garage for a once-over?
After a few minutes of talking, the sales guy offered $19,500, and $4000 for my trade-in ('00 Altima with 83k mi).
The price on the trade-in seems fair, but how's the price on the Z? I'm sure I can get him to go a bit lower, but how far should I shoot for?
I have a few others that I want to look at before buying, but I got a good vibe from this dealer (no cheezy elevator music, guy wasn't wearing a cheap gold watch, etc)
Also, am I right in thinking it was a Performance if it had VDC and no leather?
I know you all must be sick of these threads by now, so thanks for any input.
Edit: Whoops, typo on the thread title - should read '03, not '04

If you don't know how to check out a car well take it to a mechanic and have him look it over. A dealership with a car like this is going to expect you to ask that. Should cost you under 100 bucks.
KBB is usually high on retail I prefer edmunds for the price appraisals.
