Default holy batman. 350Z sells for under MSRP now?

Hi. I am ready to buy my Z. probably this weekend. and I'm going to get the barest of barebone base model. lol. the $26,200 MSRP one. I was expecting to pay MSRP for it, but I found out today through this forum that they sell for thousands under MSRP !

I don't want to be an unreasonable customer, but I also dont want to pay MSRP , since that is not the going price these days. What should I offer for the base Z ? Since the MSRP will be around $26,500, should I say I want the car for $25,000 ?

If you're willing to go online and live in chicagoland, its well below MSRP.

I've seen the Base go for $500 over invoice when we got that last major snowstorm.

Default Yup

Yup, here in CT you can get at least $1K under MSRP right now. That may not be true when summer hits, but it is true right now.

Don't get the base. You probably can get an enthusiast close to what the MSRP is on the base.

how come? whats wrong with the base model? I know the enthusiast model comes with traction control and slip diff. are they worth it?
I know i'm sounding like a noob here, but I have a 5spd maxima and its NOS'ed too! haha. but I never drove a car with traction control or slips, so I dont miss them becuae I dont know how good they are, if they are that good.

Oh man, "NOS'd!"

Anyhow, base has no cruise control. I tell everyone that the enthusiast is worth the extra money just for what you will save on tickets. I drive in almost no traffic to work everyday, no cruise control would drive me insane and get me a ton of tickets.

Enthusiast definately, for the added features you're getting it's an incredible value.

OK. I will go for the enthusiast. How much off MSRP should I target to knock off here?
