How much can you (or have you) get an 07 Enthusiast for?
Just sort of expanding my options, for the guys that have gotten the 07 Enthusiast and up package, how much did you talk the dealer down to? Or maybe how much do you think I could knock off from the MSRP sticker?
Thanks
Thanks

I bought mine for $31,500 OTD, took me 40 minutes. Just go in the middle of the week and know what invoice is, make them an offer and thats that. So i guess i paid around 27K for my 07 enth. Plus i got a check from the dealer for $55 yesterday for overcharging themselves on lic. fees or somthing, i don't know i had a good laugh though.

It doesn't matter to the dealer if you're paying cash or not. Dealership gets its money either way. *Some* dealerships might not like it that you're paying cash, actually, because then they don't make any money off the financing. My advice: don't mention how you plan to pay for it until after the sales order is signed. Bargain aggressively for the lowest price possible as if money were an issue for you.
It's good for you to pay cash, of course. Saves you thousands of dollars in interest, and you can start saving for your next car right away instead of making 4 or 5 years of car payments. So congrats to you if that's what you decide to do.

Does this have the side curtain air bags? I'm guessing not.
$28,200 is not a bad price, that's a little below invoice already. The mats, cargo net, alum. pedals and splash guards seem to be a very typical package. Is he including any dealer "fees" in that? If not, how much are they, and what is typical for your region?
How much are taxes and tags where you are? I don't know how much you're talking about.
Offer 28k OTD if you want, if they don't bite then see where you can meet. The deal at $28,200 if the car is equipped like you want it is already pretty decent, IF that means just taxes and state license fees extra. Dealer fees are a rip-off; find out what's pretty much standard for your area and definitely don't pay anymore than that.
Don't lose the deal for the sake of $100 bucks or so, though, if you really want the car. People get hung up sometimes on "winning" the negotiations and lose track of the point of the thing, which is to get the car you want at a price that's fair.

I copied and pasted. So i guess i would have to pay taxes so that would take me back to up 30k which i clearly do not want to pay. This is my plan, i will walk in, test drive and then we go to the office where he thinks he will fool me. I will tell him to put in a nav and all that other junk he mentioned on the email. It will prob. be around 30K, thats where i say "OK! I will be paying cash and all i have is 28K, i want that car with everything just mentioned not a penny more" Will they take it? I hope so.
I don't think you'll be successful with that method. Don't go in thinking you're going to beat him; go in thinking that what you BOTH want to do is successfully conclude this sale, with you driving away in a car you want at a fair price.
First, call him and ask him exactly what the "fees" are, since his e-mail didn't say. Taxes you can't do a thing about, they are what they are, but dealer fees are negotiable. If not negotiable directly, you can ask to have some of it deducted from the price of the car.
Invoice for the car as you gave it is $27,144. For NAV, you're better off getting an aftermarket portable unit. Look at Garmin and others.
So look for another $1,000 off, if possible, to get him down from 28,200 to $27,200. With taxes and fees, that will probably get you back to something in the mid-28's sort of range.
If it doesn't work out now, that sort of price will definitely work out once the 2008's start arriving. But should be pretty close to do-able right now, if he's got the car on the lot and wants to sell it.
Note: today is end of month and end of quarter. He might take a smaller deal today than he would tomorrow. Get busy!!
