Default Car Still in Transit

Well, I put a downpayment on my Z Got it for about $60 over invoice: 07 Daytona Blue Enthusiast 6Spd The thing is, I started looking for this car a week and a half back, and the dealer gave me an estimated mid to late August arrival.

Its mid August, and still no date for arrival. How far out can a dealer see their incoming stock, and after learning about what they are getting, how much longer does it take to arrive? I call every other day to help the sales process along, and each time they say "still no date, mid to late August". You'd think they would have an arrival date

It all depends on where the car was in the process when he discovered and reserved it for you.

Going by the time frame he gave you, I take it the car had been assembled already but was either built for Nissan stock at the LA port (they maintain a LARGE one for NA dealers to order from) or was a "standard" order for a dealer's inventory (not a customer order) so your dealer did an electronic swap with them to have the delivery addressed changed to their location instead.

Good things come to those who wait. I waited over 3 months for mine, being a special order; a month is peanuts! It will be worth it for you too

Yeah, it wasn't a special order, though I originally was going to do that back in May This one just showed up to the dealers one day, luckily in the exact color I wanted.
A bit ago I called to ask the status, and the manager said there was still no date, but it was in port at Baltimore.

Well, I hope the car is just waiting for a transport truck to lift it to the dealership, because I need a car! The sales manager said the car was waiting for the floor mats or something...
