Default Price i should expect to pay for a base 07?

Thinking about getting an 07. Theres one at a dealership by my house for $26,900. Good deal or average? Never bought a new car before so im not sure what to look for or how to bargain. Any advice would be really helpful.

Thanks

We need a lot more info than just an '07 Z. What trim, what options, new or used, sticker price, etc?

I am assuming you are talking about a base MT with relatively few options such as (floor mats and kick plates). $26,900 is NOT a good price. You can do that with an 08. Try at least another $1,500 and hopefully you can get it under $25K.

Well if you read the title and the post you would know wouldnt you?

Base 07 (in the title), standard options for base, its at the dealership so new, sticker price $26,900.

What else you need to know?

There are people who like to state obvious (and adding no value), so forget about him and read my post. I have beat up dealers myself pretty hard myself, so I kind of know the market. From what I know you can get mid $26K's for an 08 base and you should go for at least $25.5 and probably you can stretch further down (not disclosing how much since some people may say "fishy"). Time is essense though, you need to try to drive one off the lot by the end of this year (well, 1/2/08 to be more precise) since they have a huge incentive to clear inventory by then and also the longer you wait the less you will have to choose from.

Sorry, I was not clear.

08' -> Go for mid $26K's including destination. If you go through internet sale department and say something like "you do not have time to deal with all kinds of bull crap and need the lowest price" you should get this price.

07' -> You could shoot for $24K's including destination (at least try to get mid $25K). They many not have many to choose from, but especially if a dealer has unpopular colors it may be desparate to get rid of them.

Good luck!

The $26,9xx is invoice for the car. There is $1000 dealer cash and $700 holdback, which is likely used up at this point. You are not entitled to either of these, but may find a store willing to share.

That's it! There is no $24k 350Z!

The 26,900 is not a bad deal for not having to argue about it. However, You would be well advised to get a 2008, which you should be able to easily obtain for about $27,500. But if you already got the 07, I applaud you for being decisive. Many customers I see on the 350Z have to kick it around for weeks/months, cross shop totally random cars, call their mom, etc...

Trust me buddy, $26,900 is not a good price for an '07. I AM currently in market for a 350Z and shopping around. I got lower prices for '08's with my first email to a couple of dealers. You can talk about dealer invoice, holdback, etc, but I am currently talking to dealers. It may very well change after 1/2/08. Also, 07 cars are all inventory incurring all kinds of inventory costs which they are so desparate to get rid of. Mid $25K's should be a no brainer for a base MT 07.

All good info guys! Im thinking if i can get the car for upper 24K then ill buy it. KBB trade in value of my car was $24,XXX so the dealer should give me roughly $22,000 right? I can just finance the rest.

Do you owe anything on your trade-in?

And most banks require at least $5K or $6K before you can finance.
