Welcome. First decide what model suits your needs. There is no “good deal” on a Base if you are shopping for a Touring.

Second, I cant tell jack with out the door pricing. What is the MSRP?

Maybe you look cute to the salesperson today, if you get my drift.

Once again, could we please not talk about "OTD?" What is MSRP, and what's your price *before* taxes, fees, etc? If you're in a state with high sales tax, this may be a decent deal. Say, for instance, that your $28G includes 9% sales tax and $150 worth of various fees. This means that you're paying about $25,538.07 for the car. MSRP on a Base 07 coupe, without options but including destination, is $28,515. So, $3G off the car, without any rebates or incentives from Nissan (that I could find, anyway), is a good deal.

If, however, you live in a state with NO sales tax, and only have to pay a hefty licensing fee, you are getting screwed.

And remember: NOTHING is a "good deal" unless it's the car YOU want. Don't be pressured by a "good price" to buy a Base if what you're really after is a Touring.

What is the invoice price. Since we re almost halfway through the '08 model year, a new '07 should sell for $3-500 less than invoice.

Are you sure you want a base model? Is it the right color and transmission?

Do they have any 08's? How much more for the same car, but the 08 model? If it is almost the same, then you should either consider the 08 or ask for more off the 07. I doubt the dealer wants to keep an 07 on the lot, even if they're considering it as new. When it comes time to trade or sell it later, it will definitely be considered a year older.

i got my 08 base for $26,400 a month ago(own, not lease). I believe the sticker was 31 something? if i remember correctly.

I wasn't in the market for a new car(i have an 05 STi with only 17,500 miles).
however, i saw it, test drove it, and really enjoyed it.

its a weekend/fun car- so a base was cool with me. plus, i've invested a lot of money into the STi.

so after an hour or so of negotiations- i walked out.
got a call the next morning, and got the car for that price, no money down, kept my suby. wanted a black one, got a black one.

trust me, with the economy the way it is, the gas prices being what they are, and all other intangibles, deals are easy to come by on cars.

I bought mine around dec. Its a late year 07 base. sticker was 30,100. It has the basics kickplates and all mates. I paid 23,700 for the car. Then ttl. def find out how much the car is, i pay 9%sales tax, you may pay 4% or 12%. It helps to know the cost of the car in these types of questions, not the otd price.

Honestly i'd suggest the Enthusiast model if you are concerned about having one wheel drive. It has VLSD and few more goodies then a base. And i don't think it's much more at all (a grandish?) It's a good compromise between a base which is just that, and a touring which has all the creature comforts and costs considerably more. If i could do it agian. I would've saved my money and gotten an enthusiast vice a touring. And just bought the upgrades. Would've saved alot and prob been able to get a newer z with lower miles for the same price. (bought her used)

There are alot of Z's out there new and used. Don't let them treat you like this is a "rare" car. esp buying new. Used shopping is hard cause if you see a color you like, or what not. You are kinda stuck. (esp if you are looking for a LMS, LOL) So if he doesn't give you what you want go to another dealer. They will call and try to give you a better price.

I picked up my 07 Touring 6MT in the middle of march for $28,052 sticker was $33,844 it was a left over and they wanted to make room for the 08's coming in. Dont be pressured into buying something if your not sure about an option then test drive different models. If the dealer wants to sell it bad enough then they will come down on price. The dealer I bought it from showed me 4 different prices before I made the decision.

I found a dealership near me that has an 07 enthusiast for $24,500 with 10k miles. How much can you talk dealers down on used cars? Paosti you got a good deal, 26,000 for a brand new car is only a little more than that used. On autotrader and cars.com theres only a few 07s that are in the 23-24k range. Anyone have any tips to getting a couple thousand off one listed at that price?

Simple, you make a firm offer for a couple thousand off listed price.

Note that firm offer does NOT mean asking , "...would you take...?"
