Default Miles/Km help

Hi all, I'm going to be buying a 350z pretty soon, I found a nice 04 touring and im in canada so it says it has 50k km on it, but the speedo is has MPH larger than the km, so im guessing the car is shipped from the states. Anyway so is there a way to check if it really is km not miles? I'm sure they will all tell me its km even if it isnt

there are prob many other ways to tell but this one is guaranteed to let you know if it is a USDM or CDM car.

the left gauge in the triple set on top of the dash will say the speed in MPH and economy in miles per gallon if it is USDM.

if CDN this will be KPH and litres/100km

Interesting if they could toggle between KM/Miles for the mileage, would be confusing.

Guy above has the best method to tell....worst case scenario is that 50K is really 50 miles and then after 1.6 conversion you are looking at 80Km's

Well i heard lots of new cars could toggle between the two, unless it was some wierd dream , almost every used Z here has the mph larger than the kmh on the gauge so i was im pretty sure they are all from the us.

350z does not have the ability to switch between mph and kph

but nissan does honor the warranty on US cars up here, they took care of my axle click with no questions asked (and the rear tires were toasted at the time)

so to original poster- if there is any factory warranty left you are covered.

if you are concerned with driving a car that displays MPH predominantly i would say not to worry, it doesnt bother me one bit. In fact i love seeing the MPH, it reminds me of the cash i saved by picking up a USDM car vs the Canadian counterpart. Hahahahah 05 rsx's are going for more than i payed for my 05 Z.

Well I have no problem with that, I have a problem with buying a car with 45k km, that are really miles. And seeing how most of the Z's here are from the us then most dealers lie

Edit: unless every Z has mph larger than kmp, but that wouldnt seem right, if they change that little gauge from mpg to liters/100km they can change the large gauge too

No every Z doesn't have mph larger than km/hr, it's just that there are a lot of US Z's for sale in Canada because of the large price difference. Canadian Z's have km/hr above mph in larger numbers. The car you are looking at has 50k miles and originated in the US. Also you can't change from mpg to liters/100km in the Z like you can in some other cars. And yes most dealers lie or have no clue what they are talking about.
