Default Extra Credit Check . . .

Multiple credit checks that occur in a short period of time (2 weeks?) all count as "1" check, at least that's how the majority of lenders see it these days. I wouldn't worry about it.

Man, my credit must really stink. I was refused by peoplefirst and only got one offer from Lendingtree.

A few late bills must really kill you. That and I haven't owned a credit card it almost 5 years.

Explain the peoplefirst process a little more.......what sort of verification do they do for income? I'm self-employed, so on paper I look like a train wreck.

Basically, what I'm saying is.........with all the deductions afforded to self-employed persons, I make a lot more than what I show on paper. Maybe "train wreck" was too strong

Default I was approved in minutes

I also was approved by peoplefirst within minutes. I have an extensive credit history with around 40 loans paid off in the last 10 years. I have a grand total of 3 late pays in 7 years with a few thousand payments and they shot me 12.5%! I guess I have too many inquiries

Wow, that's a lot. Do you have any idea what your credit score is? That is what they mostly go by nowadays. I just applied to PeopleFirst via COSTCO. Since it's now after hours, I guess I'll find out their answer tomorrow....

Well, PeopleFirst gave me the 4.50% rate for 36 months! They are sending out the packet today.
