Default Current trade in Value? (03 enth 95Kmi)

Can someone please look this up for me? I'm considering making a change.

What is the range these days from complete low ball @ss raping to the high end on a dealership trade in? Just trying to mentally prepare myself.

Thank you.

Thank you. I was hoping for a dealership guy that is familiar with these transactions for some more specific info. Seems like kbb and nada dont hold up at the dealership when you start the negotiations...they always shoot back "auction rates" or some BS to lowball you. I'm trying to get a step ahead...thanks for the responce though.

The dealers look up the same numbers as you do. They just lowball you to get the best deal they can. Let the dealer start negotiating where he wants, but if I were you I would start at either the retail or private party value and go down from there.

haha don't trade it in...you will get maybe 10k at the most. Sell it to someone for like 12 or 13k.

Wrong, dealerships use Gawles, it rapes you more. They have nada guides, but usually end up using gawles for the final cut. So basically whatever you look up on nada, -500 to 1000, lol.

You mean Galves? It's only for cars OLDER than 2001.

You will be lucky if you get $10K. I just got $14.5K for mine and it only has 31XXX miles on it. Pretty much loaded.

Most dealers use a Blackbook value which is actually slightly lower than KBB. No dealers use NADA

Based on Manheim auction report:

A Nissan 350Z coupe with 95k can presently be replaced at auction for $8870-$12,150 depending on condition and options. Hitting the upper portion of the bracket is going to be hard with mods and cloth interior.

I think 10K is probably the money. You will do better if you can tranform it back to stock and it is squeaky clean w/no accidents and a solid CARFAX.

+1 on Manheim black book. That is what the dealer will give you, nothing more. They will not give you what kbb, edmunds, or nada say the trade in value is. They will give you what your exact car is going for at auction. It sucks but it makes sense. Why would they give you more for your car then they can buy it for at auction.

you probably ended up paying about 2k more for the car you just bought then. What did you trade in for?

I wouldn't say that. You really need to think more about what you can sell the car for. This prospective arises from actually going to the auction each week and seeing what condition the cars are running through, factoring a variety of expenses, etc.
