wow dude your really trying hard to prove your point, i bought my 07 with 7500 miles for 20500, 04's are going for 18k, i really dont think the difference per month if you were financing both would justify the term "big ole payment". the 07 z's are significantly more updated compared to the 03-05 and 06, and the interest rate would be cheaper for a newer vehicle. 30-50 dollars more a month on a car payment is lot cheaper than 500 here, 1500 there every month....
OP- put 10k down on a used 07 finance the other 10k and save the extra 4k for sales tax and play money for stereo mods, tires, exhaust, and rainy days.
DO NOT wait until april as directed above, its right when the weather gets warm and people buy summer stuff, like rwd cars. no deals to be found then. your best bet would be buying at the end of october or end of november when no rwd's will sell for the rest of the year, dealers know this and theyll be more willing to get rid off it so they dont have to carry it over to jan 1, i bought a car new years day once the same day the car was going to be shipped to auction and they sold it to me for 14.5k instead of 17.5k, thats no profit whatsoever for the dealer. jmo
