Default Off to (potentially) buy a roaster GT!

Been keeping an eye on it for a while:

2005 Grand Touring Model, 38K - $17500

It's price has been dropping for the last 6 weeks (from $29'000) so I'm now ready to give it a chance

I'm guessing it's either messed up (clean carfax though) or dealers are just suffering badly from teh economic dive.

Wish me luck....

Dang. Hope there's nothing wrong with it. That sounds like a majorly good price.

there has got to be a catch why that is so cheap. it should be going for a couple grand more, at least.

Too late! Bought it last night and I'm pretty delighted - it is in excellent condition and apart from taking the heads off and having a poke round I couldn't find anything wrong with it

It was a trade-in back in August for a new GTR (maybe? take that with a pinch of salt although they have sold 4 already) and they have lost around $5K looking at the receipts.

I know my way around cars and Nissans in particular so I gave it a tooth and nail inspection.

*Engine and bay are stupidly clean and so tightly packed reminds my of the old Z! Of course, I'm not one to be fooled by sparking engine bays but damned if I could find anything amiss.

*Body is free of dings and I've only found what might be a tiny stone chip.

*Underbody looks good - not sure it has been used during the past 2 winters.

*New Yokohama rubber all round - will have to take a better look at them when the weather turns cold and nasty here in CO.

*Engine pulls strong, no funny sounds, clutch is fine, ball and CV joints good and new brake pads (and Brembos for the track woot!).

So far so good Now where did I put that bolt-on supercharger....

Great Find!! An almost $12,000 price drop in 6 weeks? Well, it was grossly overpriced at $29,000.
Just an FYI, if that is an '05, you have the limited production 35th Anniversary model which became the Grand Touring in 2006.
CongratZ to you.

Oooh! What does that mean Blu? It was delivered Nov 05 - I was aware of a 35th edition but not what it was about.

Basicly, in 2005 Nissan had a 35th Anniversary model with Brembo brakes (like the Track model) and leather interior (like the Touring). I believe there were special wheels also. I'm not sure how many 35ths were produced.
This combination became the Grand Touring in 2006.

The 35th Anniversary was not a roadster. It was a coupe only as far as I know.

I stand corrected. The Anniversary was a coupe only model. A friend who is very knowledgeable on 350's confirmed that and said the Grand Touring was available in 2005!! Funny how I don't remember that.
Soory for the "misinformation" I posted earlier. As Roger Clements would say, I must have "misremembered".
Thanks
