I'm going tomorrow morning early. The sale closed late saturday night, and they're not there on sundays. Also, the car I traded in was in my and my mothers name. She still has to sign Monday morning for releasing the trade.

They did hit me with a $499 doc fee that I thought was included in the agreed on price.

In that case, just tell them you your mother doesn't agree on the sale and she won't sign over of the title, or agree to the loan.

Could be touchy, this loan is completely in my name. May make the deal void if she won't sign the car over though...

Never seen anyone change their mind about a car on the way home. I guess happens.

Ouch! These guys took advantage of your inexperience. The $499 is tacked on to the sales price. You will know next time to read the contact before signing. Live and learn.

Wow!!! Good luck with this, especially with the major price drops. It's not gonna be easy.

well if she wont sign it over that changes how much you will owe on the car. which for all u know will greatly change your interest rate, or even make it impossible for you to get the loan. so that may beyour way out.

I know that when I bought my Z, the contract said that if I put less than 300 miles on it and it was not to my liking, I could return it without penalty. Had my attorney go over it and validate everything before I signed.

Wow, pretty interesting. Does that also vary by state?

It must, unless it's the particular dealership. My mother and father both bought cars in Maryland and it wasn't a part of their contract as far as I know. I browsed through them and didn't see any mention of it. My father commented on it when I bought the car, about being able to return it and why he couldn't return his F-150. Friend of mine bought an Altima at the same dealership, and it was a clause in his contract as well.

Drove it a couple miles to try and get a feel on things. I do notice the clutch has a click in it when depressing it in neutral, bogs the revs a little when it clicks, problem?

lmao...

Maybe you should trade it in for Automatic Sentra or Versa.

Yeah, that's not normal. When I brake and give it the throttle at the same time the car feels like it's dragging.

nah, I think a pathfinder might do though. I did really enjoy driving for those few miles. I thinks it's something I just really wanted a few years ago, and was holding on to. The reality of owning it when I got home, at this point in life is a little different.

The clutch I was curious about though, I remember reading about clutches clicking a couple years ago. Didn't think it would in neutral.

You will probably have much better luck if you try to agree to take another car from the dealership instead of the Z...

If you just want to return it, be prepared to say goodbye to whatever depreciation they consider appropriate to charge you for driving it home.

G'luck!

I don't know about other states, but hre in NC, once you signed the contract, you own it.

If the dealer takes it back, he's going to give you used wholesale. My guess is you will lose $4-5000.
