Default Found a great deal on an 08

Hey everyone, I've been shopping around a bit for a 350. I was just offered what seems like a great deal on a new 08 from my local dealer. 19,900. The car is a base though. They have 2 at that price silver of white. My question is what exactly am I loosing on the base from the enthusiest? Is it worth it at this price? Also I believe I can end up buying the car for about 700 less than the 19,9 (hold back). Should I pull the trigger? I'm in between fun cars right now, I've had a few. Rx8, STi, a Mazdaspeed 3. A Z at this kind of price is hard to ignore.

You are losing no engine power, but are losing leather seats, gps, and a stupid function that rolls down the windows whn you hold the unlock button. for $19,9 I'd do it. You can split the difference between that and a 370z in mods and have a 450hp tt hr that looks better than the 370 imo, and would definitely spank it. I basically stole my base 2008 z, and don't regret it at all!!! (also you are losing out on the bose sound system, but I got a custom one in that again whoops on the factory!) Just my .02, but I'd say it'd be silly not to.....

Sorry, the big thing you are losing is the TCS...I just drive safe and slowly in the winter/when the roads are wet. With common sense and the acceptance that the rain will pass and you can have fun later, there is no reason to hold out on a base Z.

I'm guessing @ 19,9 in a year or so I could'nt really be to upside down. So with the base I dont lose any performance stuff? I tried to look up the differences on nissans website but the 350 doesnt seem to be on there anymore as far as the spec info.

350 got replaced on the site with the 370, but a 350z roadster has the same engine specs (weight is different though) No performance loss, unless you consider TCS a performance aid (which no one really does) if anything it's a bit lighter...you do miss out on alloy wheels, big breaks, automatic seats, "aerodynamic" kit, it's stuff that can be bought aftermarket for cheaper that works better. I promise you, it's the same engine! No package has more power than another.

I think base is the way to go. If you are looking for luxury, get a G37

$19,900 isnt bad at all. I see people trying to sell their high mileage 03-05s for that price!

I know the price floored me. I think I can walk out paying about 19,2. They have 700 in hold back. The suspension tuning is the same on the base as well?

Suspension is only tuned/modified on the Nismo 350z. If you're being offered a Nismo for that price and don't take it you officially fail at life

Between BASE vs. ENTHUSIAST you will loose TCS, LSD, and cruise control. You don't get Bose in enthusiast. You don't get leather in enthusiast. Oh, and you do get the windows rolling down if you hold down the remote. I have a Base and it does do that.

If you get the Base for that price, you can easily have leather and butt warmers installed at the dealership for some extra cash. My Base had leather done that way and the warmers. Personally, I love my base model except for 1 thing: no LSD. You can always add an LSD later. The price you're getting for a brand new Z with HR motor is fantastic.

Traction control won't help you in the winter. You're referring to VDC which is only available on the Touring trim. However, a LSD on the Enthusiast trim will help you if you need traction without the ECU cutting power.

I would study the various models before shopping: http://www.nissanhelp.com/.

I have an 05 base and my windows roll down using the remote... did they remove that from later editions?

Exactly. Open diff seems to do the wrong thing all the time. Once you slip, you continue to slip. Cut the corner too hard and the inside tire will jerk the car once you reconnect. If you over compensate during the skid, you end up whipping the car around the other way. LSD is a good thing.

Hell of a deal. I wish I waited a year before I bought mine.

IMO, if it's new, it's a damn good price. Yes, "squeeze" the trigger. If used, it's a fair price but still on the good side depending on condition.

Below are some ads running around just to give you an idea even if used, it's still on good side of the deal.

You should be out buying instead of posting! LOL!

Hell of a buy. You can add LSD after market & I doubt much snow/ice in S. Bama.

best deal for a new base I've found. LSD is the main reason you would want an enthusiast trim..

That is an excellent price for a new HR. I'd say go for it.
