Default Opinions on a fair price for a Used Z

2003 CS Touring with all options but nav, 4500 miles, 7 Year extended Warenty, Lojak. Perfect condition (broken in properly).
What do you think would be a fair price in the NJ area. I know prices varry by region, so please base your opinions on the NJ/NY market. Windows sticker was 35,000 with the warrenty and the lojak, it came out to 36,500.

What do you think?

Well, seems close. I think I paid about $1,500.00 for my 7/70 warranty. Don't have LoJak & am not familiar with costs. However, My 03 Touring is the same exact setup and I got it new with floor/trunk matts, kick panels, car cover and bra for $33,900.00. Add in the warranty = 35,400.00. Also, if your financing, interest rates are usually higher for used. I say offer 34,500 & see what they come back with. If you can get out the door for 35,000.00 you're doing okay. But I thing you may be able to find New for the same or less w/o lojak & warranty. If those are options you really want then go for it.

Good luck!

Let me state the actual senario. I already own the Z. I might have to get rid of it. I am trying to avoid this, but I need to explore my options. I might need to get a more financially sensible car. I am willing to look into selling it personally, or even trading it in. What should I realistically be expecting to get for it? Hopefully it will not come to this, I really love this car, but family will always come 1st.

I got my track used with 5,000 miles for 31,900 in Gaithersburg. Cost of living is about the same here as there. DC Suburb and all.

So for your touring with lojack and warrenty you should be able to get about the same if sold personally. take 5-7,000 off for trade in.

32k, 32.5 maybe. Don't trade it in!

Here are some recently ended auctions on eBay on the Touring Z:

$27950.00 (7864 miles, 6 spd) reserve price met

$28000.00 (2980 miles, Auto) reserve price met

$25701 (9052 miles, 6spd) nobody was willing to pay that much

There were several other auctions where the miniumum bid price was in the high 20s or very low 30s and the reserve price was not met or the auction received no bids at all.

I get paid to do price history number crunching on eBay and I can tell you that eBay is typically in between what you would expect to get at trade in and what you would be able to sell the car for in a private sale.

So, basically, my opinion is that $30K is probably a realistic private sale price for your car. You might get $27K on trade in.
