I found a 350z I want to buy.. BUT...
I found what I thought was the perfect 350z ..2008 brand new,Silver Alloy, 6spd, GT, still at the dealer with the protective plastic sill on the panels..
A somewhat local dealer as well..
MMM..I called ..and guess what the sales lady said the sticker was like $41,000(ok I guess that makes sense if we were still in '07-08)..she then said
the "internet" price is $35,000..I almost laughed. Even after explaining that I could buy a 370 cheaper.. Give me a break..these sales people are pretty full of themselves.
I offered $25,000( would go a bit higher but not much). I will call them back in a week to see if they sold..it..hehe..I doubt it.
The search continues :-).

+1 if you really want this one.
Its hilarious how dealers throw out the internet price crap. Oh I'm sorry because the internet shares too much information you are unable to charge me a ridiculous amount or you would go out of business. Then on the other hand they want to keep the "on the lot" prices high for that idiot that walks off the street with no information as to what he should pay. Information is powah!
Here ya go: http://www.capitolnissan.com/new-inv...44a013019ae718
offered to me for $25k.

I realize that to a point..thats why I said I would go a bit higher.. however that being said..there is NO way its worth 35K when you can get a 370 for less.
I would probably stop at 27k(cash) and thats out the door.
Plus it all really depends on when they took delivery of this 350z I was inquiring about..mmm.. could be a late 2007 delivery..so that means its
been burning a parking spot at the dealer how long? Potentially speaking of course.
The dealer should realize that most people would not even look at an 08 for that price when an update 09 model is there for LESS money. I dont give two craps what the 2008 window sticker says..the market is **** and it is now 2009..
They should feel lucky that someone even took the time to search the internet to find them in the first place then make the call about an 08 model..and looks nothing like the 2009. I would understand if it was the year 2008 and I was calling about a 2007 left over 350z..
Eh..I will bet the car is still there next week at that price.
Get this when the 370z came out I kind of liked the styling. When the local Nissan dealer got one I checked it out off hours..thought it was nice aggressive etc..etc. Well a few weeks went by and I stopped in during biz hours to get a 370z brochure ..mm they didn't have any. Great marketing NISSAN. So the salesman wanted to show me the one he had in stock..so he led the way, and guess what he walked right passed it by several cars. I had in fact stopped at the car and had to call him back, and even then when he got to the car he looked closely and said "yep this is the new 370"..mmm.."Wow" I thought..ha the dealer just got another 370z in and I know they both will sit there for quite some time..And now that GM and Chrysler finally have bowed out(thank god) it does effect the market as a whole in a confidence sort of way, and sales across the board will get even slower.
Turns out after looking viewing all the 370z pics out there..I have come to the conclusion that I do not like the styling. Hence, me searching for a 350z which I have always liked from the beginning.

Yeah, it's hard to say how much you should be willing to spend on an 08 GT at this point. it has to be less then the 370z though, no one would pay that much. it would be silly.
you need to get a killer deal. I don't know where my line would be drawn personally. 28k OTD?

Exactly my point :-). I have seen 2008 350Nismo editions being listed for less than 30K, and they were NEW. Certainly a 350 Nismo is worth more than a GT of the same year.

Scotts300..hehe I totally missed your first post here..
The dealer I call is not so local, so just popping in to see the invoice is not
really an option. I could always ask for that info on the phone, yet I doubt they would fork it over..hehe.
Did you end up getting the Nismo?

heck I dont care if I find the 350z I want from a California dealer, I would have the car shipped.

Like I posted (see above), that NISMO was offered to me for $25k. You can call them to confirm yourself if you'd like. It is NEW.
You can/should ask to see the invoice, it'll show delivery date. Also check out the 4-digit manufacturing date stamped on the all the tires to see how old they are, too.

no wonder the 350z isnt worth anything anymore
Actually - and to my surprise also - our local dealer has been selling 08s for $15k off of sticker. They have a NISMO they are still trying to sell for $25k, and they had an 08 (automagic) taken to $20k.
