Default 03 Track Vs 06 Base

so i got around 15k to play with and have found a fully loaded 03 track with 50k and all the goodies (nav, leather, etc) and a base 06 revup devoid of features with 60k. both are 6mt.

now either car i get i plan on doing at least i/h/e with a tune along with some suspension work. which of the two would you guys recommend? keep in mind that performance is my number one concern. thanks

the track is better equipped and less miles. I'd go with that. 06 is out of powertrain warranty and would not be eligible for oil consumption tsb.

The 06 is still covered for powertrain warranty, just not bumper to bumper items. Taken from the Nissan site:

Every Nissan is backed by a 36-month/36,000-mile limited vehicle coverage and a 5-year/60,000-mile limited powertrain coverage.

He said the 06 has 60k...therefore it's out of both warranties.

Am I missing something here?

any reasoning behind the choice of track? i figured everyone would suggest the 06 due to revup, unless that doesn't respond well to boltons or something.

Since both warranties are done, I'd pick the 03 track. Hopefully it isn't a rust bucket by now. Most of my friends with revup's had oil consumption problems.

06 is heaviest, and has less torque. probably the slowest year, as if that really matters. the "300" horsepower comes and goes too quickly for it to be an advantage over "287." Plus, the Track comes with 4 pot brembos and a limited slip dif. you're looking at 3k to add on to the 06 to get the same level of handling.

06 mt has rev-up engine with 300hp. If performance is your main concern then get the 06. Plus the 06 headlights are WAY better than the 03 IMO

crap. i forgot about that. the headlights, not to mention taillights are way freakin better. the LEDs, while not as sexy as the G35, are pretty hot. so pretty much, you have a car that performs marginally better but looks marginally worse, or a car that performs marginally worse, but looks marginally better.

03 tracks come with hid headlights...if you want led's that bad go for the 06, you still would come out cheaper with a lighter car with brembo brakes and ordering some LEDs....both good cars...oh yeah and totally forgot about the oil consumption mentioned in the 06's

no way anyone is going to be able to tell the difference in power between an 03 and an 06...

on the other hand, you can feel the breaks if you have brembo's on... a whole hell of a lot better than standard
