2004 roadster for $14995
i found a 2004 roadster priced at $14995. it has 36k miles. clean title. i have checked out the carfax, it has a clean title. no accidents or any issues reported. the dealer told me that there is a 4 inch tear on the driver seat though. im thinking of offering $14000-14500 on OTD. what do you guys think? anything i need to ask or check out? im going to be making sure that the convertible top works flawlessly. any info, suggestions, or comments are greatly appreciated.

i think its already pretty aggresively priced, and I am sure you've noticed that comparing it to other roadsters in the area.
if you like it enough, I would be prepared to pay the asking price + ttl. doesnt hurt to try to talk them down though

what things should i check on since this is a low mileage car at a pretty good price? im going to try and obtain information on past service done to the car. the 30,000 mile service should have been done not too long ago. what can i check to make sure that the service has been taken care of?

That is a great price.
I would deifintely check out the top as you said....but check the top fabric very, very closely for excessive wear, tears, pinholes.....the top has been a major problem with the roadsters.....many, many have been replaced. Make sure the Tonneau cover is aligned properly.

Check and ask about motor history on the car. If it hasn't had the window motors replaced then ask for a lower price. Also go on youtube or somewhere to find the legit new speed of the top. That way you will be able to tell if one of the motors are going bad (by seeing how quickly or how slowly the top is moving).
Aside from the driver's and passenger window motors and top motors, check for any tears in the top, and check the vehicle maintenance history and you should be good, besides a good test drive (older manual trannies can have some lemons).
I'm getting the passenger window motor replaced because it went bad yesterday. If the top is moving rather slowly ask how old the battery is because that would be a likely cause.
Other than the motors, no problems with the Z (got it in 04, one of the first roadsters in California).
