03 dealer will take this much and its mine..
i offered 11,000. they countered w/ 12.800 final offer.
03 Touring just over 30k pretty clean looking drove ok..
the things im worried about are no warranty and its never had the fuel hoses replaced per the owner, yet nissan dealer does not see an open recall for it?
It is being sold by a non nissan dealer.
Decent price for an 03? Thoughts?

I think that's a good price but keep negotiating and don't let them push you around about the recalls!

he showed me that he owned it for 1800 less. and it was his bottom offer.
my concern is recall work having to be done. will nissan still honor it post warranty? THe fuel hoses havent been addressed. Not sure anything else is an issue yet.. but its bound to be a few.
im gonna have it brought to nissan to do a once over to see what it needs.
This dealer said he would pay me back if i purchase if not the money for diagnosis is lost.

The fuel hose recall was done..check.
Now I have the option of a nissan inspection to go through the car for 50 bucks.
The Chevy dealer did their own pre-sale inspection. Is this redundant? or would nissan reveal something the another dealer wouldn't?

I don't think you should be more bias to Nissan doing the check, they all do the same "50-point inspection." I guess it wouldn't hurt if you have the extra $50.
^^ That may be right, but im cautious and if you look at the numbers replaced and/or have issues, they don't lie.
Thanks for the input. Good to hear a positive point on the issue

+1 on letting the dealer sit on your offer...
When i was looking for a Z I knew exactly what I wanted to spend so that was my highest offer. I went to a non-Nissan dealer and they had a Z listed at $13,500, I offered $11,500 and they refused because they "have had plenty of interest in the car. It will definitely sell by the weekend..." I found my Z the next day and saved $300... The other dealer called me back 3-4 days later and said they would accept my offer and then I refused...
Also, I was looking for months and outside of my area as well... Actually had to fly to the car and drove it 4 hours back home... Well worth the extra $$ for the flight and I looked at the drive back as a bonding experience

Also since it's being sold by a non-nissan dealer and there is no remaining warranty, they are offering a GM ext. warranty at a reduced rate(optional).
How would that work on nissan product? Would it cover all the same items?
