Default Fair price for extended warranty

Hey All

I will be purchasing a 04 Silverstone Touring 5AT and was wondering what is a fair price for the extended warranty? Should I get one? Did you purchase it and if you did, what did you pay for it?

You do not need an extended warranty; save your money. If you get one, say, for $800 for 2 years, you are essentially betting that you will definitely have a breakdown in year 4 or 5 of ownership and that that breakdown will cost at least $800. I'm betting that my car is better than that or I wouldn't be buying it. Besides, you will have an opportunity to buy an extended warranty later, after you've had the car a couple of years. Then, you will know whether it is reliable or not. Plus, you could get an extended warranty from someone else much cheaper than you could get it from Nissan. If you've been having lots of trouble under the regular warranty by year 2-3, you'll be getting rid of it anyway. Extended warranties are for the "statistically challenged", IHMO. Save your $$$.

By the way, good to see you interested in the Z and post here. Welcome to the forum!
