Default Should I buy this 2006 Grand Touring?

Friend of mine has a 2006 Grand Touring coupe (see picture). Automatic w/30,000 miles on it. He bought car new and has babied it and it is just about perfect. He wants 23K for it. I can afford it but think it is about 4K more than I think it is worth because it is 5 years old after all.. what does everyone think?

Thanks

30,000 miles is a good find. The Z looks stock and clean. Go for it.

If your friend won't go down to at least $18K, I'd keep looking.

I got my 2006 350z Touring Manual 6-Speed with only one owner and 40,000 miles with a clean Car-Fax title for only $16,300.00

I really thing that vehicle is overpriced. I purchased mine in December of 2009, so I know the one you are looking at is a Grand Touring, however it cannot be worth more than $18,000.00

IMO, it is over priced - picked up my 08' Touring with 7k on the clock for 24k - he should seriously reconsider his asking price.

It is a very clean car, though, and a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

yea wat hes askin is way to much, the mileage is great but still, if u want a really accurate number to go off of, use either NADA, or consumer reports

I'll agree, the price seems pretty steep. As you say, it is almost 5 years old.

It's funny the perception people have re. the value of their cars. A friend of mine recently wanted to sell his 2006 Touring Roadster with 55,000 miles for $25,000 because "...that's what he owed on it." I couldn't convince him that what he owed had no bearing on what it was worth.

If you really want this car, hang back and let him sit on it a while. He may adjust his thinking.

Agreed. I've been reading this site and stalking the used sites for an 04.5-06 and from I've found fits right in w/ the comments. Yes, its pristine- which will help it sell faster, but not at that kind of premium.

If the car is worth 18 to you than make an offer.

It is a five year old car and has an automatic.....

I would not buy it you can get some newer ones that would be much nicer.

You see that is the key. You have to offer money. Sellers like money. No money - no Z for you.
