Bad time of year to sell my car?
Hey guys...looking for advice...Ive had my car for 3 months and I want to sell it...I did some cool mods and it looks great but I really want a 370 right now...so my question to you is...I really dont want to expose my car locally now and it not sell...and then have to put it up in the spring again...and people who are interested in a Z see my car again and remember me trying to sell my car in the winter.
Whats your thoughts?
Should i wait till the weather gets better...we are suppose to have the worst winter in 50+ years...so im not sure who in there right mind wants a Z now?
Or expose it till it sells?
From my experience i think if you price the car right ..get in and get out.

the used car market is surging in demand since the cash for clunkers got a lot of beaters off of the road. you may be surprised what you'd be offered in trade in. worth checking out.
remember that dealers are also struggling to sell these kinds of cars right now, and that the end of the month is a good time to help them meet their sales quotas with a little extra kick back to you : )

Very bad time to try and sell for the exact reasons Dave mentioned. Had your car been AWD, it wouldnt matter what weather conditions are coming. But the last thing people are looking for is a rwd car in the winter. Kinda sucks living in the northeast lol.

If you know the price you are looking to get--I don't see the harm in putting it up for sale now. You may get lucky--someone wants a really nice holiday gift, or they are shopping in the off-season (which I tend to do.)
I don't see the logic in being afraid of what someone will think in three months--if they want a Z now and are looking, you're in luck. If they don't, why are they looking at used Z's for sale right now? Further--if they want one they want one. Nobody is going to say, "hey you tried to sell that three months ago!! I would have bought it but because of that I won't!" The logic just doesn't follow...
Determine your price and put it up for as long as it takes. Can't hurt. Then if it doesn't sell in better weather--reevaluate your price.
