Default Just lookin for advice on buying a 350z

New to the forums, recommended by a guy named ryan who i spoke to when looking up 350zs on cars.com. He gave me a lot of good advice but I still would like a range of opinions on this one. Im 18 and with a full time job with plans of attending a local community college within the next year or so. I have been looking into buying a z for about a month with a very serious determination on getting one before the end of this upcoming summer.

Lets explain my price range. I am planning on paying 5-7 cash and financing the rest. At the most i am looking to spend 13 on an 03-05 (preferably an 04) with low mileage, under 60k. Modifications are not necessity but i do plan on minor mods under the hood with exterior mods over time. I currently drive a 99 toyota camry solara se v6 with 160k miles and she still drives great. This would end up being my shitty weather vehicle since i live in illinois and the winter can be brutal to a car. Ive been seeing a few 03 with about 50k miles for around 13 at dealerships which i would attempt to drop the price to 11 at least. I am still steadily researching Zs and making sure this is what i really want so im not expecting anything to happen soon.
With all that said i would appreciate to hear the opinions of some veteran owners and see what you guys think of this venture. Thanks, Max

1. Don't mention your age on my350z.com.
2. Don't park it at college parking lots/structures.

Seriously though. The motor is pretty stout, but pay attention to the transmission when you test drive.

$13,000 may be a little tight. Maybe from a private owner.

Ive actually found a nice 03 sonic blue Z with 62k miles for 13,000 not too far from me. Im going to a dealer saturday to look at their 350s and to test drive it and everything. Are there any things to pay very close attention to? And please be specific.
