Please advice me on purchase of 2006 350z
Hi Everyone,
At last I am going to buy the car what I am looking for and I am one step behind from that, paid deposit and going to get it on monday.
Dealer doesnt know what edition it is, whether it is base, enthusiast or touring.
When I took the car for a test drive i noticed it has heated leather seats, bose system, TCS.
1) Is there a chance for enthusiast to have bose, leather seats on request from the first owner? I want to make sure it is touring and not enthusiast or base model with upgrades to leather seats and bose system and TCS..
I ran carfax report and I noticed it has two owners. 1st owner from 09/2006 (Car registered at one state, CA and driven at another state, IN).
On 01/11/2010 car was sold in Auction as fleet vehicle and within 3 days 01/14/2010 vehicle is online listed for sale.
I searched on internet for "sold at auction as fleet vehicle" and came to know it might be rental, govt or some other company who owned it and I am guessing it will be rental car.
In 03/2010 2nd owner registered the car and now it is for sale.
2) If car was sold in auction on 01/14/2010 as fleet vehicle does it mean 1st owner is fleet or is it 2nd owner? And why is it listed as for sale within 3 days again?
Below are the details of miles the two owners had on the car:
1st owner: 09/2006 - 01/2010 (12,000miles)
2nd owner: 03/2010 - 03/2011 (10,000miles)

Here is the link of car:

Can anyone help me in taking a decision? I am new to this country and I am just trying to be on safeside before buying a car which was sold as fleet vehicle.
3) Finally I will be in US for 2 years and can I easily sell it after 2 years even though it is listed as fleet vehicle 2 years back? Even if I get 11k after 2 years I am more than happy.
It will be really great if someone gives me suggestions to buy the vehicle or not.
Thanks for your time.

Btw your carfax link doesn't work.
I work for a dealership and when we buy cars one of the things we check is "was it a rental?". If it was, we have no interest in the vehicle.
To my knowledge there is no practical way you can ever add TCS to a vehicle, but I've been wrong before. Anyway, as for your concerns those were not added-on; they came factory on the vehicle. It also has steering wheel controls, which a base does not have.
Personally I would avoid it because it's auto, the front license plate bracket has been mounted, and I don't buy cars from NJ anymore, but that's just me. I wouldn't buy a rental car for a vehicle I didn't plan on overhauling because no one knows how it was treated. But it's all up to you; if you like it, go for it.
