Just like the others have said, find what its worth in your area for that high of mileage, then get a couple quotes for fixing the damage. Seems like you should come out on top.

Just to update everyone, I just got back from a nice vacation in the florida keys, and now the guy doesn't know if he wants to sell it or not.
i'm going to try and talk him into it, throw him a few offers and see how it goes. *fingers crossed
