i have to go run some errands, but i thought id atleast get the one up. I'll be on later to put up pictures of the other one. Also the 03 is from a dealer, and the 06 is from private seller..which not sure if wanna buy from a private seller for 15g's...?

I say its overpriced. I got my 06 2 years ago for 18900, with 26000 miles. Touring with a new engine. It is nice, clean and low miles, but I dunno what kbb value is either. Id guess its a couple g's too high on price. Just a guess tho. Nothin wrong with buyin from a private seller...money talks more with them than it does the dealer!

03 is way overpriced... I bought an 03 Touring 3 years ago for $12k and my 05 for $14,800k.
You just have to look around the pond and see who has the best deals. My 05 has higher mileage but it's clean inside and out and runs like a champ.
Also.... whats your age?

thinking about offering 12, than working up..but would it be an insult to offer so low? cuz others posted on here that they bought 06 and etc with 20thousand miles for 12 and etc..so like you said all they can do is say no and then work up..

I wouldn't be satisfied buying a car from a stealership UNLESS they had acted insulted or mad at some point in the process. If they haven't, you didn't push them hard enough.
Also, if you want a good deal, go early morning on a Saturday, and just be real slow and patient about the whole process, and take the whole day to test drive, take it by your mechanic, and haggle with them through the end of their business hours. If you are willing to - The longer that you tie them up on a busy day, and the more time of theirs that you waste, and the later that you keep them there after normal hours trying to work out the details, they aren't going to want to not close the deal and make zero money for all that effort.

oh wow thanks...thats like the kind info i wanted lol thank you.. and i mean for some reason...i trust dealerships more than private sellers..so thats why im lookin for a dealership. becuz with like 12-15g's on the line i don't want to be screwed over. even though some one you guys have 10's of thousands in your car lol 15g's is alot for me. also if i can't sell my car before going to dealership should i offer to trade it in? as its a 1996 bmw 328i..selling 4 $2,700..if i don't get a buy what should i offer the price for the trade in combined? as i know they will prob only give me like 1500 for it on a trade? 11 w/ trade? idk? thanks for the help.

Buying a car and trading in a car are separate transactions. I recommend that you negotiate trade-in first.

I'm the opposite. I feel like the stealership is more likely to rip you off and tell you that a granny owned it and took care of it, versus meeting and getting to know the previous owner to get an idea of how well it really was maintained. Anyone can have a car detailed right before selling it, but you can infer a lot from meeting and talking to the owner. Ask when/why they bought it, why they are selling it, who did their maintenance/oil/tires for them, etc. Ask about where/when they drove it, was it garage kept, not used during winter, etc. You can't get those kind of truthful answers from a dealer becausevthey usually have no idea - it was a trade or bought at auction.

Most dealers would probably start at offering $500 for the bmw, and try to explain to you why it's only worth that to them. Dealer used cars were at one time privately owned cars...there is alot they would have no idea about as far as the car history goes...private sellers do. Just some food for thought.

expand your search area because it doesn't sound like Z's are very common in your neck of the woods, allowing the dealer to have the upper hand on you... If you find lower priced, comparable Z's 250-500 miles away, you can use that as negotiating leverage with the dealer...
I flew a couple hundred miles to pick up my first Z because it was about $3000 less than anything local to me and the flight only cost me $150, just saying...
