2008 350Z Nismo or 2009 370Z Base?
Hello Friends! I will be purchasing a Z car very soon, and can't make up my mind on a 08 350Z Nismo, or a 2009 370Z base. I've test driven the Nismo, and love it!!! I plan on test driving the 370Z as well, however would like to get some feedback on opinions from fellow Z owners. Thanks in advance!

If it's a dd with no plans of hard tracking, buy the 370z and later install an aftermarket diff. The 370z has more power and a nicer interior. But if you are going to track the car, buy the nismo, the seam/spot welded chasis is worth it alone and in the long run with mods it might be better than a modded base 370z.

Tough question. I really never even considered a base 370 that didn't have a sport package. The price of the 350 was perfect. I was used to stiff suspensions and after driving them both I was sold on the nismo.
Maybe it was that I could only test Automatic 370s..
Interior and feature wise.. the gf drives a loaded is350, so I wasn't looking for comfort.

After taking my 350 Nismo to the track with the Porsche club , my Friend with his modified 370z decided that his car was not able to compete with mine. So he traded it in for a 911 996. Lol. Now I will have to see if I can keep up with him. Will be posting some video of the next track season with my new gopro! Good times!

That's funny, It is a twin turbo 996 . And has been modified! He let me drive it two days after he got it. It is bloody fast! Porsche's are way different and take some getting used to. He went to track yesterday and says it has some vibrations at 140 mph. I get about 135 in my Z but run out of room at the track, so I know the 911 is faster. Will need to get some ss brake lines? You have a link?

If you want the 370z, must get it with Sports package, unless you are going to mod everything. But there is that price gap between a 370z base (and even bigger gap with 370z base + sport) and a 350z Nismo. Should be several grand difference. The 350z Nismo should be much sportier than the 370z, but really up to you to decide if you want to spend the extra $.
Key differences that may bug you with the 350z vs the 370z is a mechanical one. The transmission. The 370z transmission is much smoother when shifting into gears than the 350z (almost like butter smooth and just glides into gear). Also the sports package has the Synchro Rev Matching deal and makes your shifts super smooth. I would say the 350z has a slightly notchy transmission, but is nowhere near being a deal breaker.

This is what I bought and from IPP also. They're a sponsor on here and are extremely quick with getting orders out on time and correctly. Very good company!
