Default Buying a Z this weekend...

Found a 2004 Touring M/T 32K miles for $16K. Getting a good deal on my trade in and could only talk the dealer down to $15,500. The Z is black and in mint condition. No scratches, engine bay is spotless, interior looks new. You can tell the previous owner took great care of the car and must have been garaged.

So I'm planning on buying this car this weekend...and then I see a new listing for a 2008 Base M/T with 23K miles for $18K. It's white, haven't seen it in person yet...but not a fan of white cars.

I was really set on getting the 04' but now I feel like I have to go and check out this other one.

Opinions?

16k seems high for a 2004. What's the trim level?

04' is Touring. Leather (Heated), Bose, Cruise Control.

The 08' is Base.

08 has the hr motor, so it really depends on you and your goals, the 04 will be easier to mod, while the hr is better from the factory

You have a written contract for this deal or is it just a verbal promise?

I paid $15.5k for my 04' black touring 3 years ago. It only had 27k miles also.. I think you can get a better deal unless they're giving you like 5k more than your trade in is worth

No contract, just talk and written on paper. Put down a $300 deposit to hold the car while I look for financing.

I'm getting $6500 for my trade in (2005 tC w/ 91K Miles).

If you gave the seller $300 I think this is a done deal.

I always recommend that buyers look for miles not model year. 32,000 miles is a good find. You will enjoy the Z.

Yea, I'm thinking the same thing, but hoping to get another $500 off now that I have financing and am ready to buy.

08 base hands down. Good price too. Don't forget on top of a MUCH better motor, you're also getting updated brakes...HID headlights and LED tails. If it's an early 04 model, I'm pretty sure you also get upgraded suspension.
That would be a no brainer for me .

I drove that black '04 I think (Ford dealership?). Very, very nice condition. Black is so much better and you can't beat that condition. My 2 cents.

Haha that's too funny man, yea the Ford Dealership in Framingham. Thing is sweet huh?

I've decided to go with the 04'. Despite being older, it's the color, trim, and low miles that I want.

Good choice! I really, really wanted it, but it was out of my price range. Drove so much nicer than others that I've tried.
