I don't believe anything an owner says unless its backed up by paperwork.

 

So I talked to the dealership about the car I posted about. It turns out it has been in some kind of accident. Strange because Autocheck was clear, but apparently they ran the Carfax, and it had an accident. The salesman started telling me how it was only $50 worth of damage and yadda yadda, and I lost interest. He confirmed that the rear clamshell isn't quite flush as well. Anyway, the search continues...

 

I'll keep an eye out for you. I'm on NY craigslist a lot just browsing when I get bored. NY won't be far from you at all anyway.
