Default How good is this 350z?

My friend is evaluating this car.

http://www.tsgauto.com/newandusedcar...-CO-80134.aspx

it is from Nevada for sale in CO.

Is it a good price? The 3 yr warranty is for engine and transmission only. If my friend decides to go low on price he loses warranty. So he is not sure about that.

Some questions

Is it a good idea to get an out of state car?
The car is clean title.
If we decide not to take the warranty, how much should we get it for. Its from dealer.
What are general issues related to 2006 350z that we should be aware of.

please advise. thank you.

Thank you for the replies.

Even i felt it is 2 grand expensive. Is the warranty required? Or is the transmission and engine good enough for long haul?

We may lose the warranty if we are go low in price. And is out of state car good enough?

Sorry for so many questions. Its first time we are purchasing something like this. So just wanted to be clear.

Tell them 15 grand with warranty. That's pretty reasonable.

I would say it's overpriced. For a couple grand more I just purchased an 08 Touring 6MT with 43k miles. From the photos alone looks like there is some wheel damage and the driver seat has some wear. Would be fixed if it was me, which would cost a little bit of money. Not sure if the previous owner popped a curb or just scraped, but would need to be looked into, might be some damage lurking behind the wheel. With the 06 there was oil consumption issues with the engine, but I believe the automatics may not have been affected if I remember correctly from my research. A simple forum search will work for that here.

For that price I would hold off, unless you're sold on an automatic, try driving a manual, much better experience IMO.

Edit: And to answer your question: it's always safer to get a warranty, as long as you don't plan on modding the car.

06 has oil consumption issues so might be worth it to get the warranty unless you can verify it isnt going through oil.

Thank you very much. I overlooked the problems. We are planning to go to the dealer this weekend to see this car and since it 60 miles away we were planning on buying it. guys we will have to do a raincheck on it.

For that price, you should be getting a touring model @ 2006 yr.

Cheaper. I bought my 2006 in November for $14,400. With 3 year warranty (engine, transmission - not clutch) and had something like 45k miles on the clock.

He should be able to do something similar I'd imagine.

Not sure of the weather in all parts of CO, but I would assume you have another vehicle for the winter days being in CO?

If your friend is going to CO, try looking there or in Utah or where they have snow. Easy to pick up a good deal when it's a tough sale to begin with.

this. the 06 rev up had ring issues. check if there was an oil consumption test or any issues with oil. btw, every 350z site will offer a whole bunch of info on the 06 and 05 anniversary rev up motor.

i suggested him to get an awd or something. But 350z bug has bite him hard. He is not interested in looking at other options. I will ask him again though. Can you let me know some good options in alternative to 350z that is good in snow too?

I had a STI with 350hp to the wheels. It was really good in the snow..ice, gravel, or pretty much anywhere.

Not sure would have to drive them around and see, plus depends on his preferences. Try a SUV?
