Default Good Price?

A dealer in Atlanta, GA has offered me $1,000 over invoice on a 2004 Z Coupe (any trim level) which I will be ordering. Is this a good deal? They offered $1,500 over invoice with no negotiation and $1,000 over invoice when I asked what they could do for I recent college grad (Go Emory Eagles j/k). So negotiations will begin at $1,000 over invoice. Is this a good price? Also, how can I get them to go lower?

Thanks for your advice.

www.carmax.com
check the prices there and compare
with the New models they sell
in Maryland.. It's at least a tool
to use just in case they give you a hard time on
the price

Ah cool, anyways I think 1k over invoice in Ga. is pretty good at the moment. Most of the dealers I've been talking to have been not wanting to dip any lower than500 under MSRP at the moment.

Though when I throw a wad of cash at them in two weeks I think they'll lower a little more

Bought a 2004 350Z on new years eve from Peachtree Nissan for $1 over invoice. Yes, only a single $1. I thought it was too good to be true, but it worked out when I ran the numbers through Kelly Blue Book and Edmunds. You know... if I refer you and you buy a car I will get a referral fee.

Let me know if you have any questions.

She's an internet sales associate. Not allowed to accept walkins, but she told me about the referral fee, so I assume she accepts referrals.

I bought a 2004 Touring model, Silver/Frost interior. Only 17 miles on the odometer. They have a 2003 on the lot with 529 miles that they offered to me for $800 below invoice. I thought the mileage was high for a new car, which is why I went with the 2004.
