Default 2003 350z Touring 120K

Hello everyone my names Jeff and I'm an alcoholic.. Just kidding, well, maybe anyways I'm new here and I've got a question or three..

A little bit about myself I was in the USMC for 4 years then was a federal police officer and now I work on helicopters blah blah blah I've always been into cars and ****. I currently have a 2004 Honda Civic that I loved as a teen did some **** to it but it's not cutting it anymore I want something new, well, new to me anyways and I have always wanted a 350z. With that being said I have found one not too far from where I live. It's a 2003 Nissan 350z Touring with 120k on it and a 6 spd.. I know it sounds redic but it's a 1 owner car clean carfax rides fine no leaks (I had it like all day and checked it all out). My car is a 2004 Honda Civic Ex with 133K on it. I asked for 5,000 for mine which to my surprise they said okay and they were asking 9,900 for the Z and I got him to make the difference that I would pay down to 3,400 plus my trade in.. So total out of pocket for me is 3,400 plus the "5,000" for my car would lead to a grand total of 8,400 for the Z.. What do you guys think? I attached some pics..

eh.. Me personally I would never buy a sports car with over 100k on it. Just because it is a sports car and they do tend to get used and abused over time especially a car that is 10 years old. But it's not a bad offer

sounds about right for the price. i bought mine for 9k. 2003 350z, 144k miles, 6 spd, and after market turbo kit. no major problems. paint was a little rough. on one wheel, 2 of the 7 spokes were cracked. the exhaust install after the turbo was a little shottie. i am really enjoying my Z though.

I know I am the same way but my car is leaking oil pretty bad and my money is tight. I figured I could ride this for another 50k (wishful thinking) until I can afford a newer model..

If you don't mind the mileage or plan on doing a swap down the road, then go for it. The price is definitely tempting. I wouldn't pull the trigger though. I'd spend a bit more and look for something newer, maybe an '07 with a lot less miles.

Bro that's freakn nice man. Congrats sounds and looks like you got a great deal man. The one i am eyeing is about the same paint is rough in some areas but overall it's nice for 10 years old and I like the fact that it has absolutly no REAL mods just an air intake and a front sway bar.. I know it's probably been run ragged in it's day but the engine seems to be in good order from my knowledge and best of all no leaks (like my current car) and no white smoke lol The tranny seems to be nice and tight also I put it in all of the gears while stopped and tried to wiggle the stick and it had almost no play which is good..

No, it's a good deal. Situation is what it is and you definitely made out on top. The Z can last you a lot longer

And yes i hope it lasts awhile or at least until I can afford a newer model. I would rarely drive it more than 20 miles a day with my current situation (works close) and I think a little TLC and some elbo grease and I can make this sucker nice again..

I hear ya. Have you checked Autotrader? Either way, as long as the car's cosmetically and mechanically sound, I could care less about the (hopefully) highway miles. $8400 is a good price for a great condition Z.

Yeah I checked out auto trader and every other site I found some decent ones but they were either out of my price range or too far away from where I live and 98% of them were automatics.. blah.. I mean the one i'm looking at isnt in "excellent" condish but it is considering it's 10 years old.. I mean it's in better condition than my car thats 9 years old..

Also on all of those sites I didnt find one that was below what i'm getting this one for. Plus this guy is willing to let me take it Monday and let me write him a check for the difference and call him when I get my return to have him cash it.. Pretty decent guy nothing like the Aholes you would normally deal with I guess..

You'll never want to go back to those economy FWD ever. I've never purchased a FWD after purchasing my first Z in 2004. I won an '01 Cavalier in a raffle 2 years ago and drove it for a while, but that doesn't count.
