Default Buying advice please

Hello everyone,

Well the time has come for me to get a 350Z. Not my first performance car by any means, But one i have wanted for sometime.

So, I wanted some opinions on what package is good to get and issues to look for that seem specific to these cars.

I live in illinois, so i do want traction control. Jury is out on VDC...i've read about it a bit but i guess you never really know until you play with it haha

I know one thing for sure....must be a 6MT

Thanks in advance

So... what is your question? There is a sticky thread with all the differences between models.

Yes, and i did read through it. I really was looking for opinions on VDC and what owners think are the good options to have. I don't want to buy a Z and then later realize I wish i would have had _____ on mine.

Also common issues that are specific to the 350Z. I know there was a 6MT issue on some, And other things like that.

Also, do all packages have at least traction control?

No, I use my right foot for traction control in my Base 05.

I also always had it off in my 03 Enthusiast.

The Base model is the only trim that doesn't have TCS.

I turn my VDC off as soon as I get in the car.

According to some people, VDC is slightly advanced and will work better than TCS. However, mine is a strictly summer car, so I don't have a use for it.

Just a note, Base models do not have a limited slip differential. That was reason enough to remove base models from my consideration.

Honestly aftermarket LSD>Nissan viscous LSD. Plus the only time I even noticed my 2003 enthusiast LSD was at a HPDE. Driving around town and the freeway I notice no difference between my 2003 enthusiast and my 2005 Base. YMMV and IMHO.

I'm sure that is very true. But since mine will have to see snow at some point, I'm pretty sure i will notice haha
