Picking up my first Z!!
So the 350z has always been my dream car. Probably because of Tokyo Drift, anyways, I've grown to still love the car and have been driving my moms suv that I bought when I was 17. I'm 21 now and I'm ready for something more my style. I've been looking around the past couple months for the right one. I finally found what I've been looking for and have visited several times to drive the car and check it out. Im no mechanic or car wiz but i know what i'm looking for. It's a black 2005 Enthusiast with about 95k on her. Theres a couple little things here and there that need fixin up but i'm prepared to finally put some work and care into my car, as it will repay me in more hp...
Upgrades include:
SPEC stage 2 clutch & lightweight flywheel, Nismo bearings & clutch fork, injen tuned cold air intake, new front & back wagner thermoquiet ceramic brake pads, new rotors, royal purple full synthetic oil, new Dayco belts, new air filter, ngk plugs, all new fluids, kenwood flip out kvt-514, L7 12" Kicker in custom box, Garmin GPS in Visor (w/lifetime maps)!! Crown royal shift boot, suede headliner.
Also the running boards are blue. He said he was going to paint them back but it looks kinda cool. I agree, but still debating on painting them black.
It's a private seller not far from my house and he had it up for sale for $11500
We came to the agreement of $10,800 and he took out the kenwood flip screen. But hes replaced it with a jvc single din, which im ok with temporarily.
The only things I don't like about it are:
The tires are kinda bald..oh well
The hatchback hydraulics that hold it up are shot.
Theres a huge sub box in the trunk leaving no space for anything. And its not carpeted. (I plan on building a better, smaller box, on the other side of that crossbar thing in the back. Closer to the drivers seat, and hopefully I can make it fit.)
The passenger door handle doesnt open from the outside so ill have to buy a new handle and replace that. Cuz that's just annoying.
Otherwise, the car drives great and I can't wait to go pick her up in a couple days.
So my question to all of you veterans of the Z world, do you think this is a decent deal? Because in my opinion, and all the looking ive done for the right one, I believe this is a pretty solid deal considering the clean title, very clean condition inside and out and overall upgrades-to-price ratio. Let me know what you think. I need an outside opinion from someone with experience in this field of awesomeness, thanks!
I'm trying to post pics!

Sounds like a 9k car tops to me esp with what needs to be fixed/replaced, Id be willing to bet by looking at the pics that the car has had a hard life and the **** beaten out of it by a young immature owner. Id keep looking, that car screams neglected owner.

Well the previous owner was a doctor who kept it pretty much completely stock. He's the one who actually had the blue skirts put on with plans of painting them but never went through with it. But the kid I'm buying it from is also 21 and only drove it for about 8 months. He has a boat and stuff and needs to buy a truck. I have no doubt that he prolly drove it hard as hell, but he did put some work into it and took good care of it.

Bald tires...check
Random Daytona blue sideskirts.....check
Broken door handle......check
unfinished stereo work .... check
Blown hatch struts......check
Yeah he took a special kinda care of it. Hell do what ya want, WTF do I care, but that thing is ragged the fawk out and that's just what I see from a few pics. Better see some receipts for the clutch work and all the service work he's done too because without that he's BS'ing you on those too. GL

The car also has kickers in the doors with crossovers...and in those two speaker compartments behind the headrest are 3 way kickers as well.
Amp is in the glove box behind the passenger seat
Any ideas on where i can put that huge 12" L7 kicker and still have enough air space, and also still have as much trunk space as possible.
(original bose sub was removed)--can i somehow put it there?

if you pull off the cover behind the drivers seat there is an insert for 10inch subwoofer, you would need to buy the cover that's supposed to be there with the sub though. btw, i run stock size focal speakers with crossovers and a 10" rockford fostgate sub in a custom made box in my car and it sounds very clear and the bass isn't overwhelming. what i'm trying to say...you shouldn't really need a 12" sub.
My Stereo Setup;
Kenwood Double din Head unit
Focal Front speakers
Focal Back speakers
Alpine Power Pack amplifier (it's 50wx4 for the speakers)
Rockford fostgate p3 10"
Rockford fostgate 250w mono amp (for subwoofer)
**no big annoying boxes or speakers that hang halfway out the doors***

I know it just came with the car and im trying to find use for it, haha. I'd be much happier with a 10" sub hidden away behind that factory bose cover, than a 12" sub in a big box in the back taking up all trunk space(what i have now)

How the eff are any of you saying this a "clean" car?
It's been beaten, abused, and generally not cared for. For nearly $11K, I'd pass on this car.
Tires - you're looking at $1K for something decent
Sideskirts - check your frame, he probably hit something and these were the cheapest replacements he could find
Door Handle - $65, if someone really "cared" about the car they would have fixed this
Unfinished Stereo/12" Sub/Unfinished Sub Box - sounds like a typical case of "rimm'd up with a killr system"
Hatch Struts - You're looking at $20 MAX. Again, if someone really cared about the car, they would have fixed this.
You got taken.

What matters is its your car now. If it was neglected, care for it. Fix whatever is messed up. Mine wasn't in the best of shape when I got it but its getting there.
