Default The Z is calling me back.

The past few days I've been contemplating getting back in a Z. I had an 03 350z enthusiast for about a year and then thought I needed to be more practical since I was getting married. I've been driving an 07 Titan for the past 2 years. I definitely miss having a sports car. My Z was probably my favorite car that I've owned. It kept me satisfied even though I didn't mod it much. My truck has been great too. Started fishing a lot and even did some deer hunting this past year.

I was hoping I could get some insight from people that have been in a similar situation. Did you go from a truck to a Z and regret it or love it? I know I would love the car as much as before but I don't want to miss my truck. My wife has a 2011 Kia Sorento so I could definitely still fish but hunting would be an issue.

Also can't decide rather I would want to go back to a 350z or hop in a 370z. I like the looks of the 370z but my research tells me its not much of a power difference over an HR. Interior is nicer which I like a lot. But is a 370z really worth the money over an HR. I haven't even drove an HR though so I'm not even sure how much more noticeable it is over a DE.

Here is a pic of my old Z.

I went from a mopar stg3 srt4 to a 89 Cherokee with l89 corvette motor swap with nv4500 5speed dana 60 rear end to a 98 2500 cummins 5spd 400hp modified to a 05 350z I now have lol. I went through my stages lol.

But I do miss my truck being higher off the ground and hauling stuff when i needed (not enough to keep)...but the z by far is hands down the best vehicle i have owned and my first non American vehicle.

My first vehicle was a 5 speed tacoma lifted on 33's 4wd. Blew a head and sold it. Bought a silverado, drove it for a year or two, sold it and got the Z. Never looked back. I still hunt, I still fish, but I rarely do either alone. I either take a buddy fishing with me and pull my boat with his truck, or I use my dad's truck. If you do get another Z and don't have someone willing to go fishing or hunting with you, just pick up a cheap beater truck and be good to go. That's what my plan is for the summer.

That could be a possibility. I'd even consider a wrecked one depending on the condition.

Good advice here.

Unless you think your wife might want to drive the truck and get rid of her KIA suv? Just a thought.

Or if you give up your truck for the Z (not sure how you are for space - I have a 3 car garage and it pretty much limits me to 3 cars, as I don't like to leave my cars outside - they age much quicker)

Even though those Sorrento's are kinda smallish you could just get one of these:

I have one I throw on the back of my wife's full size SUV when I need extra space for camping, etc. It's great for stuff that is too dirty to put inside the suv (like a freshly killed deer lol).

For realz?

I followed your link and actually read on it for a few minutes, but when I saw the date, the only thing I could think of was: REALLY?

A guy posts in a friendly manner asking for advice and you want to bring up a thread where you feel you were insulted from 2011? going on 3 years?
(edit: just double checked, Feb 2011. THIRTY FIVE MONTHS AGO)

Wife doesn't want to drive the truck. We tried that a while back when selling her car to see how she liked it but felt it wasn't her own and wanted something that was hers. That little trailer thing would be perfect. I tried to convince her a deer in the back would be fine and add character.

IMO keep the truck, wait a while and save a bit more until you are ready to get a decent DE Z.

Keeping the truck might not actually workout. Its been giving me some electrical issues I can't figure out even being an electrician.

IF practicality is even a mild concern get the 370z. Because they moved the strut bar in the trunk it has much more trunk space.

And having owned both, the HR is much quicker than the DE

It will definitely be an HR or 370z unless I decide to keep the truck and find a cheap DE. I have to fix the truck first though.

I don't think they are crap. That's what I had before and they tend to be cheaper. I haven't even rode in an HR to know the difference. I was very pleased with mine and wish I would've never got rid of it. It would be paid off about a year ago.

I know you don't. It's really come down to what falls in your budget.

I used to have a DE and I loved it even though it was an auto. Still a great engine, but these HRs are awesome
