What would you say my Z is worth?
This for days. With used Z's coming down so far in price the last few years it makes so much more sense to pick up a low mileage Z and a used Turbo kit and make sure the job is done correctly for pretty much the same amount of money.
You have an un-tuned $8000 turbo 2003 350z that could blow up during the tune. Thats needs a $350 windshield $800 tune, $50 radio mount+labor, $200 for re-painting fender. With a/c disconnected (regardless if it works once bracket/pulley is reinstalled because a buyer won't believe that)
Part it out and sell or take a huge loss. $12k seems pretty reasonable when it needs $2000 in work.
Will take you a half the time to uninstall the turbo kit. Stock wheels, remove utec and then maybe you can get closer to your 15k for car/parts

Here's a question. Why is no one interested in a twin turbo 350z? I've only had two people actually check it out, and one of them was my boss-who wanted to give me 12k for it. The other person to check it out wanted to trade it for his 06 GTO. It was nice, but I just didn't care to really own it. Also, I've gotten an *** ton of offers for trades, but all things that I'm not interested in at all. Ideally, I would like to sell it straight and figure out where to go after that, but that's proving far more difficult than I would have imagined.
When I first posted the car, I listed the price high at 17.5k, knowing I would have people talk me down, but I was really hoping to make 16k off it. Seeing that 16 generated no interest, I lowered the price again hoping that 15 flat would be what I could bank, and still nothing. Now I have the price lowered to 14.5 and really can't afford to go any lower.
My question is this, is 14.5 really too much? I never would have thought that it would be this difficult to sell a twin turbo Z.

How do I know the quality of the build? Take your word for it? Not for anything over $5000.
It may be personal opinion, but I've never bought someone else's project and I've never had a problem.

If it were stock and assuming the interior is in pristine condition, a dealership would try to sell it for $12-13,000, I can't imagine you selling it to anyone for more than $10-11,000
No offense but people see a 350z like this as having been abused, people want to buy stock 350z's in excellent condition.
My local dealer has an 04 Touring with 35,000 miles on sale for $14,000 and they've continued to lower the price, it looks as if it just rolled off the showroom floor, the previous owner just traded it for a 2014 370z Touring.

Mods don't increase the value well unless you have Volks or something of that nature. Turbo will make buyers cringe and look elsewhere. It comes down to the work done abd parts used. Given the fact it's so modded most buyers like myself only want stock.
Decreases the likelihood of it being beat on and raced. You generally don't buy turbo for looks, so I assume it's been run on the track.

Nothing done to the bottom end of the motor? The motor could have a hole in the side of it just trying to tune it. Let me pay $14k and then have to build the motor and fix everything else wrong with it. Should have sold it to your boss for $12k

Sure its cheaper to buy a done up z...but the ? marks and headaches if the person took shortcuts and knowing its been driven hard and abused makes anyone turn away unless they have retarted money... I bought mine from a retired firefighter I know it was not molested and it was bone stock...
I would of thought before I put a twin turbo on my z would be the breaking point of keeping it a long long time or selling it... Now your in that position (which I honestly don't understand to each its own) that either ky jelly it up or take all the labor to rip it off the car and part out... I would part it out or sell it and loss 5ish grand...

Here's my opinions. I've been trying to sell my z as well. 05 model touring convertible with hardtop. All stock except for cf hood. 79 k miles. The best offer I got was 9k. I turned him down.
Now if you're getting your evo, and has the same issues as your car, how much are you gonna pay for it?

People will lowball you no matter what.
I had some kid that said he would buy my Z for $12,000 cash. When he came to give me the payment he said oh, I only have $9,500 but you won't get more anywhere else.
I turned him down, as my z has only 53,000 miles and all stock.

Alot of what is being said is spot on but one thing being left out is that most people who are into cars want their own blank canvas to work from, not someone else's work to pick up from.
