Default Looking to buy a used 350z roadster

Hey Guys:

Drove a S2000 for 10 yrs until last month when some kid ran a red light & totaled my car. The S2000 was a great car & I really miss it.

Anyhow, I think I'd like to check out a used 350Z roadster.
Any tips, or yrs to avoid.

Wonder how the Z will compare to the S.
I'm scheduled for a test drive tomorrow, a 2005 Enthusiast model,

Any thoughts?

thanks guys!!

Welcome! The S2000 had great performance starting at about 7K all the way to redline. You'll notice the Z33 roadster has a torque curve much lower in the powerband. The VQ remains a great engine and I'll be interested in what your impressions are after your test drive. Only tip I'd suggest is to carefully check out the top operation and make sure it's fully functional. The fifth bow in the assembly seems to be a problem with many ZR owners and the top can tear. Other than that, good records and a professional assessment are recommended.

my 2007 touring roadster is awesome!

I'd sell you mine full retail, as its flawless, and 22k miles.

Never driven in snow, driven in rain 2 times.

All records.

Black, no swirls, scratches, or dents.

All seriousness, buy 2007-2009 with low miles and look for service records.

I have an '05 Touring and love it. There is a lot of info here so I encourage you to search.

My car is basically a garage queen but I have had virtually no problems. Be sure to check the top over closely for rips or signs of wear or seams starting to pull.

Mechanically, the '05 had few problems but be sure to have an independent mechanic check it over.

Good luck!

I have a 2004 Roadster and i have yet to have any problems with the car. It has 93k miles on it too and still runs fast and strong.

Replaced my 2001 S2000 with a 2006 350Z roadster. It is in great condition and has only 37K miles. IMO both cars have amazing looks & drive like race cars. The S2000 has 240 HP is lighter, a bit more agile & has a much higher revving engine with most its power coming at 6000 rpm. It handles amazing on the twisties & is a blast to drive. The 350Z is a heavier car with 300 HP, loads of low end power & torque, has more creature comforts & also is a blast to drive. Both shifters have close gears & are very smooth. The Z, having larger tires & wheels (18” vs. 16”) gives a bit smoother ride & isn’t as punishing on poor roads. It is quieter inside, has a bit more room, better gauges, and heated seats. Choosing one car over the other is a tough choice because both are great cars for their own reasons. The S is more of a purest car while the Z offers performance with some additional comfort.
I drove the S2000 fairly hard for 10 yrs. & never had any problems or quality issues. I hope I have the same success with the Z car.
Having the opportunity to own both cars makes me feel very lucky & I do really appreciate both.

I'd honestly pick a s2000 roadster over a 350z roadster. I've never driven a Z roadster but the S2000 is very fun to drive.
