Default Looking to but new z help

Hello forum

I am 17 years old and looking to buy a Z. I will have to pay the insurance and monthly payments myself. I make around 800 a month and don't pay anything else...How much should I save for the Z? (13k amount of car)

Did you get a quote on insurance? Because insuring a V6 RWD Coupe for 17yr old will take up a good chunk of your $800/month income.

I would say wait. I bought mine about 4 months ago. Had 7k in cash and a car worth about 4k. I'll pay it off in February once I sell the other car. My payments until then are about 320/month and my insurance is 210/month. After tax and fees,z was about 13k. I'm 18 and make at least 1k a month part time and money is stiff at times. Wait.

If you're making $800 a month and your payment + insurance is less than that why should you save up anything?

I bought my car 4 years ago when I was 18 and insurance was $333 a month. Where are you getting this $250 max number? This was with me having my license for a year, I finally got it down to 200ish a month after 4 years then my wife got her license. **** went back up to $500 a month cause she is a new driver. I would wait if I were u. Buy a car cash and in 4 years ull have more hands on mechanical knowledge (from fixing ur beater) and financially you should have saved a good amount for your 350z

You only make $800/month and are willing to drop at least $600 of that for a car? That leaves you $200/month for gas, food, etc. Don't make the mistake of buying a car when you can't afford one.

$800-350-250= $200 Sounds like you can afford it. Why do you feel the need to ask us for a basic math equation?

just to put it into perspective OP I was 17 when I bought mine. I had saved up about 45k and bought my z for 15k. after 2 years of just insurance and gas I had 0$... that's about 15k a year just to own and drive it, so yeah id say not a chance. im 20 now and making 2000k/month and still struggling to afford it...
