I'm new to this forum and I have a question.
I live in the Houston, Texas area and I am going to be buying an automatic 2004 Z Touring model in August. But I am probably going to have them order one fresh from the factory. Can anyone who bought a touring model in the Houston area tell me about how much you were able to get yours for? The only option I am adding is the side airbags. I found the invoice price and the true market value price from edmunds, but I was wondering how close most people are getting to invoice.

The only problem with asking for a price is that if you order in August, you'll most likely be ordering a 2005. If there are changes made (which no one knows yet), the price will most likely go up (at least in terms of where you can negotiate to), thus making what people are paying for 2004s moot.

If you order a little earlier and get a 2004, or get a 2004 off a lot in August, you'll probably be negotiating a price over invoice rather than below MSRP. As for specific numbers, I don't have a Touring and I'm not from the Houston area, so I can't help you out with that, but I just wanted to give you a heads up.

I'm sorry, I didn't explain very well. I meant that I would be literally driving off with a car in August. I am going to be ordering one next week so that it will arrive in August. I thought I might be able to get a price close to invoice; I just wanted to see what other's have experienced in my area.

But thanks for your help anyways! I have to get a 2004 because the 13 year old, 130,000 mile car I'm currently driving is DYING slowly and really loudly So I'll have to get a new one before the 2005s are available.

Sounds like the car I got rid of for the Z. 12 years old, 165k+ miles. Everything 6 months or so I'd spend at least the cars value in repairs. Haha.

Anyway, in another thread someone just mentioned getting a Z for $1500 over invoice. I'm not sure of the trim or where they're from, but shoot for that neighborhood anyway.

 

$28900, is what I paid for an auto with all accessories except for GPS

 

I'm assuming this is used. If new that price is unheard of.

 

Yep it has too be used, a new one like he said, auto and all excluding GPS, is

$31093 and thats Invoice, MSRP is $33790

Car eto share which dealer and scan and show us the invoice. I call the BS flag on this one if its new

 

$500 over invoice. especially for an auto.
