In 2years gas prices in our area have increased 2.19 times. I have a stong feeling that is not the case in any other state. Can someone confirm that?

I spend about $20 a month on gas between my wife's Maxima and My Z. We both live and work within .5 miles where we live.

Needless to say she drives and I walk or bicycle to work. Poor Z gets no sunshine anymore.

However, next month I am moving 15 miles from work, so we will be forking over $150 a month for gas. Think I am going to trade the Z and look at a Hybrid. NOT!

Just imagine what those SUV hogs are paying per fill up? Can you say $65 and up per fill up.

BTW, my dad is in the oil business, superintendent for a small oil company in Houston, Tx. I can tell you he aint making anything off of this. Dam OPEC!

I liked when I was in Saudi Arabia, gas was cheaper by the gallon than water.

I'm getting pretty sick and tired of gas prices, it went from $1.87 - $1.99 (93 octane) within like a week in NJ, what kind of SH*T is that. Anyone feeling my pain? especially when our cars get like 18 mpg, and I refuse to part with my car for a civic, which gets like 30 mpg on like 87 Octane.
I almost feel your pain, I live in Jersey too but being that my previous car was a Grand Cherokee V8 with AWD it almost feels like gas is cheap again. Then again I've only had the car for about 2 months so I'll be complaining soon.

The Chevron down the street from me went from $1.379/gal yesterday to $1.439/gal today for 91 octane. And that Chevron's considered relatively inexpensive.

I recieved this in my email, so I thought what the hell I would post it here.

IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.

THEREFORE MAY 19TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP THEIR behind " DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE THAT DAY.

THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.

WAITING ON THIS ADMIINSTRATION TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?

REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.

SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE MAY 19TH A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

If you get this email or something similar to it please show some intelligence and consideration and don't forward this chain mail spam. This email seems to make its appearance around Spring of every year just in time for the driving season. Yes, the oil companies do have some effect on the prices but boycotting them would have the opposite effect and force them to have to raise prices.

Slightly over $5.00/ gallon if you convert Euros to dollars and liters to gallons here in Spain. When I was 16 (1958) in CA we could buy gas for 23 cents/ gallon and sometimes they would have "gas wars" and the price would drop to 19 cents!!! So, if gas now costs $2.30/gal that means it has increased 10X in the past 46 years. I think if you compare it to other commodities you will find almost the same increase.
