Default I have Good Advice on Drying Your Car

I've been drying my car with a leaf blower for 2 years now.
2 Major Benefits:

1) One less round of towel touching that has to be made to the finish, thus eliminating fine scratches that result every time any towel touches the car.

2) Gets all the water out of the mirrors lights, handles, etc.

Negative:
1) Neighbors look at me funny

I'd second that. Hell, I've been using a leaf blower ever since my second Z back in '85. My neighbors are used to it by now.

I don't use a "leaf blower", but a Nikota Car and Shop Blower. Picked it up at Checker during a sale for $19.99. Electric, soft nozzle and small enough to be held in one hand. Would not consider washing the car without using it to assist in drying.

I take about 5 minutes to blow the water out of all the areas it likes to puddle or get stuck in. Then I use a Microfiber waffle-weave to pat dry what's left.

I also use a leaf blower. Use the big blue waffle towel as well if needed.

Air drying your car is the ONLY way to go if it is black! Nice on other colors too.

Do you use electric blowers or gas? Don't you worry about it essentially "sandblasting" the paint or anything?

That's nice to hear...I have to drop the car off at the stereo place tomorrow. Maybe I'll go to Home Depot next door and grab a leafblower.

yeah I gave the leafblower a try this fall after blowing leafs out of the yard. It worked VERY well and is much much easier than just using the California water blade and drying towels.

I don't do it because it is easier, I do it because it gets all the water out of every nook and cranny and leaves no water streaks.

Just picked up a leaf blower...TORO 110 mph electric leafblower for only $29.99. I tested it on another vehicle because my Z is in the audio shop. It did a great job on a Dodge Durango. I didn't do the entire thing because it's late and I didn't want to disturb the neighbors. Can't wait to get my baby back tomorrow so I can test this thing out for real...

BTW- I cut a piece off of an air-conditioner vent filter and duct taped it over the intake on the blower to make sure it doesn't suck anything in that shouldn't be thrown at the car.

What about inside the door sills and around the inside trunk area. After you move the car, this is where the water seeps out and you get most of your streaks. Do you blow the inside as well?

I usually do a lap and redry to get all the excess.
