Default Rain X

Does anyone use Rain X on their windshield/headlights/mirrors?

Pros? Cons?

This is the best product. Used it since it came out. Great on the track.

Used it once on a deceased car. If you decide to stop using it, you find out that your windshield would prefer otherwise...

My best bet -- stay away...

I dont understand what your saying... Ive used it, it follows the washing each weekend. I also used an additive to the washer fluid. havent used that on the Z because I dont use automatic windsheild washers on a new car, but rainX is going on this weekend. tomarrow even.

for me, they seemed to make my wipers chatter after a while. like someone else said earlier, once you use it, it seems that you need to keep reapplying it or else your windshiled gets really hazy.

I agree with the rest of you. After it's just put on, it works great. But after a week or 2 your windows get hazy, and that haziness is really noticeable when your windshield faces the sun while driving.

I still have chosen to use it, because of the frequent rain in Houston.

If you have Zaino, you can use it on your windows, and works just as well. It sheets right of like no ones business.

hmm i need to look into another product i used to use when i worked at ziebart,, it was an industrial strength version.. came in a special aplicator with wings.. oh wait wasnt htat.. no jokes aside, it had these wings that you squeeze to break something inside (like top off a vial or something) its cylinderin shape w/ a flat side that has a furry coating on it... anways you squeeze the product out and apply it w/ that furrything all in one self contained package it was great,,, but you had to let it set up for 15 min and then buff off
.. oh and using some steel wool before aplying helps a lot as you get those sap and insect deposits off

I'm not sure of the company name. I'll check later. But it's a glass polish. It's similar to the consistency of the RainX product but doesn't haze after you stop using it. Been used on the old Z, the 'teg, the lexus and the pickup without any problems after forgetting to use it.

"Somecompany" Glass Polish
