Rain X
I dont understand what your saying... Ive used it, it follows the washing each weekend. I also used an additive to the washer fluid. havent used that on the Z because I dont use automatic windsheild washers on a new car, but rainX is going on this weekend. tomarrow even.
I agree with the rest of you. After it's just put on, it works great. But after a week or 2 your windows get hazy, and that haziness is really noticeable when your windshield faces the sun while driving.
I still have chosen to use it, because of the frequent rain in Houston.

I have used RainX for many years on my '90 300.
Great stuff. I have only replaced my windshield wipers two-three times in 157000 miles.
Once you put it on, you have to keep doing it
forever though (at least on the windshield anyway).
No matter how good the RainX is you still need to use your windshield wipers and using them wears out the RainX. Once it is worn out the windshield /view is only a little bit worse for the wear.
Have not really noticed the haze during the day, but when it is raining lightly at night, the water beads up into really really tiny beads that cause a terrible glare driving under a street light.
I have not decided whether I am going to use it on the 350 yet or not. Although I have noticed that the rain clears off in blotches on the 350 (like any other car without RainX).
Of course the 300's windshield is still original after 157000 miles and it looks like it has been sandblasted with the number if tiny nicks in it... makes it hard to see in the direct sun.

hmm i need to look into another product i used to use when i worked at ziebart,, it was an industrial strength version.. came in a special aplicator with wings.. oh wait wasnt htat.. no jokes aside, it had these wings that you squeeze to break something inside (like top off a vial or something) its cylinderin shape w/ a flat side that has a furry coating on it... anways you squeeze the product out and apply it w/ that furrything all in one self contained package it was great,,, but you had to let it set up for 15 min and then buff off
.. oh and using some steel wool before aplying helps a lot as you get those sap and insect deposits off

If you havent seen it yet, RainX now has handy wipes. You just grap one or two, rub it on, then let it haze and wipe off.
RainX is the best stuff, but I agree with the haze issue if you dont keep it up. If you decide it's not for you, get some industrial strength glass cleaner and clean the windshield once or twice, you can take it off (but I wouldn't!)

I'm not sure of the company name. I'll check later. But it's a glass polish. It's similar to the consistency of the RainX product but doesn't haze after you stop using it. Been used on the old Z, the 'teg, the lexus and the pickup without any problems after forgetting to use it.
