Other Wax Products
I know a lot of guys around here use the Zaino stuff, but I was just wondering what you guys thought of other wax products on the market. I read some of you use\used Meguiars Gold Class, but what about Zymol?? Has anyone used this stuff and what did you think? I have used the Meguiars Gold Class also on all my cars but noticed as others have said, it doesnt last very long. How does Zymol compare to the Meguiars?
Thanks...
Thanks...
I have a friend at work who uses Zymol on his car. Hes got a 2002 black cavalier.
honestly it looks damn shiny. I havn't looked close, but he said that it removed swirl marks that he got from the dealership washing his car one day.
Overall he says it works good, its what he uses and hes gonna stick with it for awhile. I havn't used it myself - I'm on the Zaino bandwagon!

When I got my Blackfire kit I through everything else away! I've used Pinnacle, Zymol, Blitz, P21s, Meguair's, Zanio, Nufinish, Platium and Eagle one. I'm hear to tell you I have no ties to any Carcare manufacture and that Blackfire is the damn best product I've ever seen. Goes on like carnauba, removes easier than Zanio. Does a tremendous job filling swirls and still extremelly slick after dozen washes. Blackfire has Meguiar's and Zanio beat period!!! Just my .02 cents
I used to be a Meguiar's user until I found products on the Internet were SO much better. I don't spend $100s on a particular wax, and I don't like extra work. I keep the surface of my cars in excellent condition from month to month.
I've used Blitz, Zaino, Zymol, Blackfire and Pinnacle and for ease of use, price and overall appearance, the BlackFire is (in my humble opinion) the best. For paste I prefer Pinnacle.
Again, I have black cars and those are the products I prefer. I tried the Pinnacle and Blackfire because they were formulated for dark colors (from www.properautocare.com). They give good information on what products work best with what colors, and are really helpful on the phone. I called once to ask about their polishers and what to use with them.
Hope this helps. Bottom line, just use SOMETHING!!!!

I'm surprised that I haven't seen mention of detailing products from Griot's Garage. Richard Griot is based in Tacoma Washington and really puts out superior products, particularly marketed towards the concours community. I've been using his products for over 5 years and have had fantastic results. Used on BMW, 3Z's and a Lexus.
They have a clay and wax system as well as many other products and a neat catalogue. Check it out on the net. I'm not sure how price competitive they are, but their service has been outstanding.
Keep on Z'n

OK guys...I have tried them all over the past 30 years. Most of the higher named brands such as McGuiars, etc. are outstanding and pricy.
IMO, Nu-Finish is BY FAR the best bang for the buck. Inexpensive, readily available, easy to apply and remove and a hard, long-lasting shine. Looks great, wins trophies.
I've used it on my Zs for years....really does the job!

I have tried and like p21s wax. It is less expansive than zymol and from what I can tell works pretty darn good. I also have used their paint cleanser and like it also.

Hey - did anyone ever hear of or use "Prolong"? It was made by a Canadian company and was discontinued last year. Now there was an eaxy to apply product that produced a really good although not long lasting shine.
I picked up the Mother's brand clay kit and their Reflections sythetic wax, and it worked great. I haven't seen it compared with Zaino, but I suspect they're practically the same stuff. I would have bought Zaino if they had on-line ordering. But then I just went to Pep-Boys in Huntington Beach, and noticed Mother's is based in the same city. So I figured if I had any problems, I could always stop by
i really like 3m products. thier professional lines of car care products are good. thier consumer level are pretty good as well but not quite like thier professional type products

Thanks for the info. I did see a site selling Zaino for a bit extra (1 or 2 dollars per product). It was just a lot easier and faster to drop by the local store.
And I'm no longer doing business with PayPal because of their horrible security, and the fact that they owe me 24 dollars and won't pay until I give them my bank account number.
