Blackfire products and a great shine
Hi to you all in the USA from me here in the UK.
I am having my new Z delivered in 2 weeks and have already purchased, following a powerful recommendation, a Blackfire kit for new cars. I have seen this other guy's Black Z and the shine is stunning.
My Z will also be Black and I want to purchase more of the Blackfire range to enhance the paint and the great shine I hope to acheive. Can anyone tell me the address of a Blackfire supplier in Orlando? My family and I are coming over to Florida in August and staying along International Drive so it would be good to find a shop nearby. I will have a car for the 2 weeks stay so can drive a short distance.
I have also had microfibre cloths recommended to me so I will be looking out for these as well. I don't think we have these cloths here in the UK.
So any of you good people with a Black Z could you please get your thinking caps on and give me your thoughts as to how I can acheive the best shine in the UK..... I mean without the typical swirls associated with Black cars.
Thank you
Steve

I wouldn't wax for the first few months on a brand new car. Unfortunately, I don't live in FL, but I'm sure someone will offer their assistance.
Good luck, and have fun at Disney World (if thats where you're going).

Steve,
waxing your new car will be perfectly fine -- I'm not sure what that other guys is talking about. Some people claim waxing is a bad idea at first as paint needs time to "cure", but your car should be several weeks if not months out of production by the time you take delivery so I wouldn't worry.
As for wax, the most important step is preparation! Make sure you have clayed or compunded the paint surface to remove any abrasive elements before you wax. As for Blackfire, I do not have a black car (I own a silverstone model) and my experience with Blackfire involved a lot of excess grease being left on the car. It sure did leave a deep shine, though! I wish you the best of luck with it -- might want to pick up some extra microfibre towels to get all of the excess off with, and make sure you apply the wax in the shade.
Blackfire seems to be distributed on a somewhat small scall compared to other wax manufacturers here in the US. The only place I have ever found to stock it (and all of the accessories) consistently is Proper Auto Care,
http://www.properautocare.com/
Their Blackfire specific page is here:
http://www.properautocare.com/blpaprki.html
I am not sure if they ship to the UK but that may be the way to go! If not you could always order it to your hotel via express shipping if you are going to be in the country for a week or so
Cheers,
Richard
