Zaino Z8 (Grand Finale) Review
Well, my latest Zaino shipment arrived today...included was a bottle of the new Zaino product "Grand Finale Spray"! I immediately rushed out to the garage to give it a whirl...
The bottle is a bit smaller in real life than it appears on the website, but by Zaino pricing standards this is a decent amount of product for the price, especially considering the effect.
It has possibly the most exotic smell of any Zaino product -- those of you who are frequent Zaino users have probably come to love some of the smells (hell, I even tasted the soap once!) The smell of the Z8 is some sort of tropical fruit, like a combination mango/grapefruit.
Taking heed of the "use sparingly" warning on the bottle, I carefully applied a "coat" to the entire car. I actually used much less of this stuff to do the whole car once than I normally would using Z6 -- it seems a bit thicker, and a little most definitely goes a long way. I waited a few minutes before epulling the car out of the garage and into the sun so I could examine the reflection.
I was very surprised! Normally I do not buy the hype about products like this -- yes I love and use Zaino constantly, but paying a comparably large amount of money for 1/1000th of extra shine on my car seems silly to me -- my Z5 protects the car more than enough, and the Z2 and ZFX I use keep a high level of shine for lengthy periods. However when I pulled it out of the garage, I was actually able to notice a distinct difference in the low angle reflections from the car -- an extra level of detail coming from the clearcoat. Remarkable! I have never seen this with Zaino before no matter how many coats I use, how I apply it (alternating, interspersed with Z6, etc.) I found the surface to be very slick, more so than if I had just applied a coat of Z5 or Z2.
Furthermore, after driving downtown here in Savannah and having the car out under a huge tree for two hours during pollen season, I came back to discover almost NO pollen on my car whatsoever. Completely different story than if I had used Z6, which I do frequently!
Time will tell how durable this stuff is -- I'm sure not as durable as a genuine coat of Z5, but the dust repelling properties alone make this stuff worth it at least once per week to me during pollen season
Verdict? For the discerning detailer, well worth the money. Then again...if you were anything else you wouldn't be reading this forum or using Zaino!
Cheers to Sal, and thanks for another great product!

Damn! If it will help keep the amount of dust and pollen off my Z, then it's worth the price for that alone. Can't wait to get my hands on some.
WRT to the smell of the Zaino products, I think it some subliminal plot by Sal to get us all addicted. It appears to be working.

Addicted? That is absolutely absurd. Why just the other day while I was applying my EIGHTY FOURTH LAYER of Zaino to my car I thought how SILLY the thought of anyone becoming addicted to using Zaino actually is..
Ridiculous!
Now if you'll excuse me.................

I had just purchased my Zanio starter kit two weeks ago and now I feel somehow ... incomplete! I've got three layers down on my super black but need to get those darn swirls as delivered by the dealer out.
