Thumbs up Towels, DF and Big Blue II: Reviewed

I've been using DF Towels for about a year now and have been 100% satisfied. The quality is top notch, and they are great for all detailing duties, particularly removing wax. The wax applicatiors are also great, they come with a piece of foam inside them that works really well.

I recently bought the Big Blue II drying towel. I had been using extra DF Towels to dry the car, but that was becoming inefficient. The Big Blue II really suprised me with it's drying abilities. After a heavy rain I was able to get 3/4 of the water of the Z without having to wring it out. Once I wringed it out, I was supprised with how well it started picking up water again. Some towels stop picking up water once you have to wring them out, but not the Big Blue II.

What are DF towels and where can they be purchased? At the moment I just use microfiber towels I get from the local autozone for wax removal and I use a rubbery absorbent cloth called "Aqua-Dry" for drying.

Gunser,

I agree with you 100%. I don't find the DF towels especially good for drying but they work great for Zaino removal and polishing.

Nothing beats a large WW microfiber towel for drying.

+1000 on the df towels for wax removal.

IMO, I wouldn't dry rain off your car after you have driven it though even if its just a few blocks. There is road debris all over it which means prime target for swirls. I use my leaf blower to dry my Z, the neighbors look at me like I am retarded but it works great and gets all the water out of the nooks and crannies(sp?).

Reese,

Agreed, I'd never do that after driving my car through dirty rain/road water. We had one of those freak thunderstorms dump a bunch of rain on my freshly detailed cars (Z and Taurus) as they were sitting in the driveway. I grabbed the big blue and dried them off before the sun came back out spotted them to hell.

Thx for the tip though.

I've been using Big Blues for 2 + years. Now have two sets but the first set still works great. They are expensive relative to other MF towels but they work & last.
