Using the ZFX does dry faster for me. The ZFX does other things as well. I've left unused polish/ZFX mix and it didn't harden, if the cap was kept closed. BUT, you don't have the exact same product anymore after a day either.

The polish/ZFX is activated by the shaking and with the sitting for a few minutes, the polish and ZFX is going through a chemical reaction. Within about 4-6 hours or so the ZFX starts to slowly break down, within 24 hours you are back to nothing but the polish, so though it looks the same, it isn't the same. That is why the 12 hour recommended use. Not exactly a good technical explanation but hope it helps.
