that is bad luck dude, sorry to hear

the guys are right, never use a wheel cleaner. Theyre designed to be sprayed on the wheel, then hose off to remove the brake dust. Think how strong it must be, and they contain a fair bit of acidic soap, u can usually smell it on ur fingers. Worse still is spraying a hot rim

if u do like using spray cleaners, water it down. I use the meguairs one, they claim non acidic but u can smell it, and water it down 3:1 water

Default Does this thread belong in “detailing?”

This is a great forum for learning about the 350Z, and cars in general. However, many drivers come here after they have botched the job instead of before. FAQ for wheels should include:

Clean the wheels using the same method that you clean the car. Wheels are as delicate as paint.

How do I get brake dust off my wheels? Don’t wait until brake dust accumulates. Clean the wheels when they DON’T need to be cleaned.

Thanks for sharing your “lesson learned.”

You're pretty confident for a country that has never seen a Hurricane of that magnitude. You are such a big person to use the death of so many people to somehow win a pissing contest. Grow up and may this tragedy never befall on your country.

People like you make me feel ashamed for being part of the common wealth countries.

HAHAHAHAHA

Nice, laugh at the death of thousands. I bet it was hilarious for you when terrorists destroyed the World Trade Center too. When a major earthquake hits Japan, do you celebrate that as well?

Go **** yourself, you insecure "internet badass." At least I show my face on these forums and I show up to meets, where people can kick MY *** if I've pissed them off enough.

Show up here, show up in our ****ing country and I'll show you how nice it is. We'll see how long you last in South Central L.A. with your amusing comments about dead people from Louisiana.

Post up a pic of your ugly face, your riced out civic, or whatever it is that fills you with so much contempt that you feel you need to make fun of people who died from a natural disaster.

P.S.

I'll remind you that our ****ing country kicked your *** in the Revolutionary War.

Nice tactics!! Line up your men in a neat and orderly fashion so our boys hiding behind trees can pick you off easier!

P.P.S. What the **** do you know about how well we can help our own people? Tons of money and resources have gone into helping people, including thousands of volunteers nationwide. The water cannot just be drained in the matter of a few days like in the movies -- this is real life, and shyte takes time. I'll remind you that our country has our shyte together and in times of disaster, we're quite efficient at getting things moving again... just look at New York City.

Man, I was gonna talk about how I like using that Armor All Wheel Cleaner in a diluted form, but obviously we're a bit off that topic...

You need to do some reading. The US was winning the war militarily. It was the new leftist anti-war administration that cut of funds to Veit-nam that ultimately made America pull out of the war. And they didn't just hide behind trees, they atached trip wire granades to babies on the ground hoping American soldiers would pick up their baby.

If you want to know more on the history of viet-nam and why the Americans went in there, here is a link: http://www.tinyvital.com/BlogArchives/000354.html

I doubt you will read it, but there are miracles.

This is from someone who is vietnamese(south) and who's father(south veitnamese army) fought along side Americans to stop the north veit-cong from taking over the country and turning it into their version of communism.

Wrong. You have no idea what you are talking about. In this thread I was trying to post something constructive. If you read "moaning" out of that, you have the brain of a 5 year old.

If you weren't so goddamned ignorant, you might know that my line of work is doing research. There happens to be a lot of "down time" in my line of work. More often than not, I am waiting for someone else to do something before I can continue.

I can choose to do whatever the hell I want in my down time at work. What I do in my own time I will not defend to a complete idiot like yourself. I like spending time browsing the forums, and I like posting my comments. It is more entertaining than reading Google News all day long.

It sounds to me like you are projecting all of your shortcomings and insecurities onto me. You obviously have no life, probably have no Z, probably have no girlfriend, and all you can do to make yourself feel better is show up in a thread and start yelling "STFU" at people who make you feel inferior.

Even if you studied for 100 years, your intellect would be nowhere near mine. Your method of insulting people is up there with pre-teen intellect.

This is my last post on the subject, you can b!tch and whine all day long for all I care.

Thank you for playing THE INTERNET. You lose.

You have

continues.

To get back on topic....

I had problems with water stains on the lip of my rims. My lips are polished, but don't actually have a clearcoat. If yours are the same way, then i suggest using bluemagic metal polish on them. It took out all the water hard water stains from the lips. It came highly recomended from my local speed shop. However, this advice is only good if you don't have a clear coat, so i guess you need to find that out. Hope this helps.

I have the sf challenges also and the lips aren't chrome but they are clearcoated. Best thing to do is to just wash your wheels with soap and water and apply some wheel wax to them, it gives it a pretty good shine.

The guy who did the last detail on my car waxed the wheels with a new product he was trying out. I don't remember the name of it offhand, but I can get the info. With all the rain we have down here, I wasn't able to wash my car for almost a month after that detail, but when I did, the water still beaded right off the paint and chrome after it was clean again.

Been my experience to never put anything with a turtle on it on a car. Nuff said.

Try P21S that is made in Germany, it's water based and a tad more expensive, but does a great job. (Especially on aftermarket or Brembo brakes) I like it so much, I won't use anything else on my wheels.

You can order it here:

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/

They have good service.
