Default Best product for Cleaning windows?

I'm using Windex right now but it sucks. It's always hazing up.

Dont laugh but I've been using Z6 on the glass everytime I do a wipedown - someone here recommended it and it seems to work great. For the interior windows I have Griots glass cleaner and their lintfree towels, but on the outside I've been using Z6.

I make my own: 80% Distilled water, 12% ammonia, 8% rubbing alcohol. No streaks, cleans great, costs about $1.50 per gallon to make.

Same here:

3 parts distilled water to 1 part isopropyl alcohol.
Add a ounce of sudsy ammonia.

Z-6 is great as a coating for your windows to help water runoff. I wouldn't use it to clean your windows though.

Ammonia is NOT recommended for use on your car's windows. It can harm the interior pieces that are vinyl, rubber or leather. It's also not something whose vapors you want to be breathing in a closed cabin.

If you check glass cleaners specifically made for automotive use, they don't use ammonia.

Slightly OT: My windshield has water spots on the outside near the edges that will not come off. Any recommendation?

GM Glass cleaner, that's right General motors, I don't know who makes it for them but I have never used anything better. I used it on mirrors in my home and everything. Buy at your local chevy/gm dealer.

Seriously folks, just claybar the suckers. Zaino claybar! Or if you're cheap, get the knockoffs at K-mart.

I'm very impressed with the Meguiar's NXT. Definitely recommend it.

Eagle 20/20 = Not so much. Left a lot of streaks and haze.

Another downfall of using a window cleaner with ammonia as an ingredient is that it will discolor and possibly ruin tinted windows over time. How long until that happens? Unknown. But it does happen.

Microfiber cloths are essential too.
