Love Zaino but.........time for a carnuaba
For starters my car is black
Im a huge Zaino fan, love the stuff, awesome shine and durability, and have a nice collection of new bottles that havent even been opened yet
BUT.........
Its just too good
WHAT?
Ok let me explain.......
Say i do the whole Z5/Z2/ZFX process after my detailer mate has prepped the car immaculately with his bag of Farecla goodies, the car looks great. In fact it looks better than great.......

After 1-2 months of washing and everyday driving/parking i start getting fine scratches. Now i could layer another 3 coats of Z5 to 'hide' them, but i know it wont look anywhere near as good as when my mate prepped it. So id rather cut the light scratches out with my bottle of Farecla G10 (which works unbelivably well by hand) then Zaino again.
But herein lies the problem, the Zaino is just TOO durable. I simply cant cut through it by hand, nor will it cut through by machine. When prepping my car the first time (i did the Z5 thing to hide dealer delivery swirls) it took him over 5 hours to cut through it. We tries prepsol, went through all the Farecla products and in the end used a heavy duty industry 3M cutter
I really cbf with that whole process just for removing some light scratches, and its not good for the paint either, we all know how wafer thin the paint and clear coat is
So im back shopping for carnaubas. I figure itll wear itself off in 1-2 months, and even if it doesnt, G10 will easily cut through it and i can restore the panels whenever i want. And then wipe on some more carnauba when im done.
This begs the question........what carnauba to use? Anyone with a black have some recommendations?
I know P21S is the best out there atm, but ive heard on black it doesnt work as good. Im steering towards Pinnacle Souveran, but again why is the paste twice as expensive as the liquid? Also thinking about swissol, but there are too many product lines

^ would you go for the liquid or paste
i read once this detailer here in Aus commenting that layering liquid over paste produces better results
would you need to use the pinnacle paint cleanser before waxing? Is that like a Z5 to hide minor swirls?

when you buy meguiars, buy the professional line. (beige bottles not red)
was never a fan of zaino because it just covers up imperfections instead of fixing them. plus it's hard to get the stuff off...
here's mine meguiars #9 swirl remover/polish, clearkote's vanilla moose hand glaze, and the final ps21. the car was clayed the week before.
no zaino **** here.

ive used the meg swirl remover in the beige bottle before, it looked great, but after a wash to remove residue before waxing, most of the fillers washed away and it looked crap again
good move on the p21s, im a huge fan of their products. Id use the P21S cleanser to prep before waxing. But i think ill try the Pinnacle Souveran Paste as a wax

Meguiars NXT doesn't last for S**T, that's one of the reasons I switched to Zaino. I got maybe two weeks out of the wax before I had to reapply it. It does look good I'll give it that, I use it on my wife's Lexus, but there is no durability.
