Default undercarriage care

I drive my Z in the winter where they spread salt when it snows. I know salt is very corrosive. How do I protect the bottom? Some car washes have undercarriage wash but I'm worried about the water getting in the unwanted areas. Should I wait till spring to hose it down?

Hose it down anytime its above freezing. One thing people who drive in snow forget to clean the salt off of is the radiator. Salt is extremely destrutive to the radiator. Hose this free of salt frequently or you will get premature radiator failure.

Best advice is DON'T DRIVE 350Z's in the SNOW.

I try not to drive in the snow because of the summer tires it came with. I learned my lesson the hard way. I drove my car the day of the snow storm. Well in the morning it didnt start. After like 5hrs there was 6inches on the ground. I couldnt get out of the parking lot!. Damn it took me over an hr to get home!. When it usually takes me 15mins. Fortunately there were some helpful people who pushed my car. The tires on the Z really sucks. Got to get all season soon.

there is nowhere water can get that is "unwanted" if the water can get there, so can the salt. anything of worry is water proof. spray that biatch down, drive over one of them lawn sprinklers, get it good.

I bought this cheap Euroblaster deal. It will soap the car too!! It works wonders on the undercarriage for soaping and rinsing. What about underneath the hood? What is the best way to clean that? Can I just pop the hood open and spray with the hose?

One area that seems to really hold the sand and dirt is the rear wheel wells. At the front and the back there are pockets in the plastic that seem to hold the dirt pretty good. Just spraying the wheel wells will not get it all out, you need to stick the hose back in there and splash the water around by hand. I bet a cup of dirt and sand came out of there when I washed my car saturday.
